hey, im lookin at gettin a kit for my r33 series one...

But i have only come across two places so far

1 ) Viva Garage, fair prices but very limited selection

2 ) Autostyling on main north rd, great selection of kits, but 2500 painted and fitted is harsh

anyone know of anymore places? ive already checked the workshop links on the forum, and none of them listed seem to do cosmetic mods

please feel free to put up some pics of your bodykits, as i still need ideas :D

well i am getting my kit from someone who got it from viva garage.......the kits that viva have are limited in selection but they hold some of the good stuff......not a lot of kits do suit the r33's....i have a s1 and i am getting TVRS front and BN sides and rear....which is what i was after....i guess it makes a bit of a difference when you have an idea on what you want your car to look like....

great.....now thats great lol....ahh well i am picking it up for cheap so a wee bit of rework wont hurt.....people also said that about speed dreams back in the days and i had no probs with their stuff

R33 DO-LUCK looks sexc source it from DMD Garage in QLD they will send it down for you well worth it and perfect fit. go to google and type in DMD image and you will find their website =] but yea do-luck r33 ftw!

2500 painted and fitted is a good price! remember these kits will need a lot of work to look good. I went full kit, carbon bonnet, ganadors mirrors and gtr wing and it makes the line look a lot better then stock but each to their own

Do your self a favour and pump and lip the gaurds the stock gaurds make the r33 look ugly and like a 380 lol

all kits available locally are pieces of crap quality-wise, and will cost AT LEAST $2,500 painted and fitted. When I got a kit for my S15 it cost $1,300 to paint and fit.

Try and get a plastic or resin kit - fibreglass just sucks.

do yourself a favour and get a stock m spec kit....dont ruin a nice car with a gay kit.

i agree! ever since i got rid of my bn sides, rear and trust front and put it all back to standard i never loved my car more! but that's my preference

otherwise here's the only kit i would put on a r33! if i remember a while back there was a white r33 called gtnik from WA who had this kit!

agreed!!!

sideskirts, rear pods, front bar + lip and your laughing.

i wouldnt reccomend autostyling and i doubt many others on this forum will.

Vivagarage are nice folk but yea...alot of their kits need rework and are hardly a perfect fit.

Wreckers / Ebay / Trader section ftw. Go down to doyle crash and get them to respray your seccond hand kit and fit it, theyl match the colors pretty much perfect and you wont end up paying too much considering the quality of work done!

    • This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.
    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
