I have done a couple of quotes right from NSW to WA

TOLL Autotrans want 1190 but 14 days transport

TNT want 1260, they havnt told me how long tho

14 days to me sounds a bit much.. is this how long it takes from sydney?

there is an internet based one which is door to door.. they are 1300 but i duno, a freinds mustang came back witha big dent in it and they said it must of been there allready.

I had my car sent over by TNT AutoTrans, very good service. Mine too 12 days I think. But I imagine it could take less depending on when the next shipment is leaving. And the biggest reason it takes so long is because it goes Depot -> Truck -> Rail -> Depot -- I'm pretty sure.

My car is being brought over from NSW to WA at the moment. There was a derailment which is why they are saying 14 days as opposed to the usual 8.

Was in same position as you in terms of getting qoutes from TNT and Autotrans.

Autotrans: $1190 but they don't cover stone chips and it's not enclosed

Toll: $1222.99 with cover for stone chips and any damage and they send it enclosed on the rail.

However with the derailment, I have been told something different everytime from TNT in terms of times and also method of transport as they are saying it will be quicker for it to go to NSW depot> truck to Melb depot>Boat>WA depot rather than originally planned way of NSW depot> truck to Adelaide> Rail to WA depot.

I really don't know what's going on so will be on the phone tomorrow to see what's the go.

I had my car transported from NSW for about $1400 by Ceva Logistics...took about 2 weeks and had to go from NSW-->Sydney-->Melbourne-->Adelaide-->Perth Rail-->Perth Depot.....if you ask me, I'd rather pay abit more to have it come straight here as 2 weeks was too long!! I didn't know it'd take so long btw...

to have it sent priority they qouted me $2200....i was like mmm nah i'll pass. all the cars from NSW they said will go through same process and won't come straight here i don't think unless you pay the premium for priority service.

drive it!!! that's the only way. don't have much choice in terms of trusting them, they would only be driving it on and off tow trucks etc and with all of them and mine i got a sheet stating the k's on the car and any damage etc so will be thoroughly inspecting it when it arrives before accepting it.

    • @GTSBoy This method was able to get readings of -10 to -2, so it looks like its monitoring.  Now I need to figure out why the vacuum on the line provided isn't alternating with manifold pressure.  I went with 2 lines that an RB25 tuner recommended but I'll get a longer hose and try directly off the back of the manifold.  He may have been used to OEM intake setups while I have a DBW setup that removed the MAF and IACV.
    • I work at a car detailing and tinting shop called Quark which gets all manner of German cars in usually (mainly due to a contract with Mercedes Benz Kita Osaka, BMW Nishinomiya and others) but every once in a while something special comes in, like a fully restored 1972 HS30 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG... The shop owner had immediately started applying film to the windows as soon as it was in the shop so the interior was completely covered in towels and plastic sheets. But I could get a few photos of the engine bay which was restored like new. Such an amazing car to see in pristine condition in Japan these days.
    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
