give the big boys hell tomorrow dave. yeah no practice for me either which is a shame because i wanted to try out gary's new shocks.

the a048's are going to suck against the guys on slicks once they get going. I'd bring some slicks along for you guys but I've only got 3, wrecked one when the caster rod broke :)

still, should be good to see how you go, I was OK to take 2 rows of the grid so you should be able to do at least that with the power you have now. Its a shame they wised up after a few races and started going sideways on the start to cut me off.

lol I think that is what they are trying to get on top of Andrew.

New shocks are in after 1am this morning (and thanks for providing the cold cold garage and help Neil :)),

No probs buddy,,,I wasn't cold but then again I did all the hard work. I gotta love ya style though,,,just a quick shock change turns into rear arm changes as well ya bastard.

If you hadn't sat there drinking and lazing around talking shit it would have been finished straight after dinner. lucky for me you don't smoke or nothing would have happened.

Lofty just pick the sportys off one by one,,,most are un-reliable old girls and come Sunday arvo you could well be kicking some big arses. Semi's at E/C will be interesting.

Neil.

ummmm anyone planning to go out specifically to see Duncan race shouldn't

i'll let him post details later but we're out for the weekend :P

looks like Dave also had some problems in qualifying- hope it all got sorted so there's at least one Skyline still running this weekend.

ummmm anyone planning to go out specifically to see Duncan race shouldn't

Doh :D

I was going to pop out tomorrow morning and watch the first race :(

i'll let him post details later but we're out for the weekend

Doesn't sound too bad, if it's only one weekend you'll have to miss.. That rules out a whole list of potential boo-boos :D

yeah this particular weekend didn't go as well as last. 99% sure its got a spun big end bearing. the oil pressure was never right on that motor so maybe next time. even worse, the commodores are going pretty quick at eastern creek 1.48 and I don't think the car was sorted well enough to get close to them. but we will be back...again....

looks like lofty had a bad weekend too....not great for skylines all up :D

haha 1 minute too quick andrew....its deader than a dodo. we are out for next round as well (4 weeks) but will be back for the round after that with a bit of luck. We need to "discuss" some things about this motor with the machine shop first

hi

we had a shocker, only got 1 flyer and was still warming her up but it spun a bearing too.

We have built another engine up and its ready to race I was happy with 1st lap being a 143.00

but sunday will be fun from the rear of grid.

dave loftus

BSM

:)

ahh meh shit happens soetimes. you need deeper pocketrs than mine to rutn thesecars.

dave, if you got a 1.42 that is a good start, that car has a lot of potential as a sports sedan and i reckon if jeff has the time andmoney to persevetr with it you can make the same sort of impact as yuo did in IP and production cars. hope he gives it a shot

good to hear dave I wish nmy spare motor was ready. althogh i might be a bit under the westher tomorrow. best of luck I'm sure you can grab 2-4 spots off the start.

surprised to hear it was a bearing though it looked like rings to me for sure? a lot of the black stuff came out, at least like my car it will never rust under there

    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
