in regards to the above you tube links.

im not real sure what you guys see in the gtrs.

have you not been in anything faster?

it makes lots of wooshing noises but dosent seem to pull very hard.

you may say im full of shit but i know what my wifes car is capable of and that gtrs has nothing on the muppet bus.

i think the car above in question has lots of mods and a hell of a lot of money thrown at it , yet it struggles to make the wheels chirp as it ramps onto boost in second. wheres all the midrange? for dollars spent it should spin to the limiter when you floor it in second, but it dosent.

have you driven that car cos it sounds like you know the person or how it drives or are you just guessing

i found your muppet bus

its as fast as you say it is well done you must know what your doing .......take EG MEMBERS

just in case you did not like that one

nice set up

moving right along !! lol

Yeah thats a fairly good point, if thats in 2rd - mine gets a lot more savage than that and romps through second. Makes the pretty noises too, but probably a fair bit cheaper setup - and only running conservative boost.

The GT2835 vid posted in this thread sounds like it'd give it a spank :D

Heres a clip with mine when I got the internally gated housing, before I got the boost controller for it:

when you ran the 1/4 in that video on you tube it looks like you ran a mid 13 ,do you remember what you ran.

1) the car is the vid is running a 2835 pro s (the gtrs was mentioned later)

2) people go for this setup as they are able to get away without forgies

3) how do you know he floored it?

Answer: It's a very nice streetable turbo that is capable of pushing out 250-260rwkw

have you not been in anything faster?

Answer: Yes, I have. What's your point?

it makes lots of wooshing noises but dosent seem to pull very hard.

Answer: How do you know the amount of boost he is running, or what modifications for that fact? How do you know he even floored it? The curve on this turbo is much more linear, thus, it won't appear to smash you to your seat like a larger turbine would.

you may say im full of shit but i know what my wifes car is capable of and that gtrs has nothing on the muppet bus.

Answer: As for your muppet bus, I don't feel as though I need to say anything......... The video explained it all

Answer: He could've been running 9 PSI for all you know, maybe he has 265 tyres on the rear? Maybe he has an awesome suspension setup? Maybe he didn't floor it?

Please don't come on this forum and insult peoples' cars and what mods they have. The GT-RS is a great turbo and I'm sure all those people who have been in a car with that turbo will agree with me.

Cheers

Hi guys,

Just thought I might share my video with ya'll. Went for a drive this morning (nice and cold), got up to about 200km/h.

Have alot of traction issues in 1st and 2nd gear, sometimes even third if you smash the gears in.

What do you guys think, not bad acceleration?

cheers

Nice results, seems to go very well, just a question, what tyre/sizes are you using? seems like your are using a cheap tyre thats not very wide, hence not very good traction, im using 255 toyos and i have full traction in 1st (trys to spin up 2nd if you shift fast enough)

Mate, this thread should pack it in.

Why post a speedo vid, could have been going down a hill for all we know.

Everyone knows the 2835 is a bloody top turbo so now lets see some 1/4 times.

End of story.

Hey thanks for the comment.

I'm using 235's and they are bridgestone, not sure what model and CBF checking.

What's the thickest tyre do you think I could put on 7.5" wide rims? Could I go 245?

I'm looking for 17 x 7.5 on the front and 17 x 8.5 on the rear but no one sells such rims for a cheap price these days. Any recommendations? I know Work sell them but they are like $2,400 JUST for the wheels themselves!

Pretty hard to get such wheel spin going down hill if you ask me??

And no, I wasn't going down hill. :D

245 on that rim not a problem ..people put 255 m/t on 300zx rims which are 7.5.

Yeah Ive got some 235/45s on a 7" rim sitting in my garage, so 245s shouldnt be a prob on a 7.5...only thing is they roll around on the rim and gives the car a squishy feeling as the sidewalls move around a bit more..

Cheers

13.3 @ 112mph :) I'd post a time slip but its a huge pic. That was done with no boost controller it was effectively boost creeping, until it finally reached 1bar and it would stabilise a bit. I needed to be well into 3rd before it reached 1bar of boost, so first gear was no/hardly quicker than with a stock turbo (running 11psi pretty much) and then built up from there. By 3rd is was starting to stomp. Since then I have put an AVCR in it and the comparison is night and day from back then - on the dyno it makes pretty much no peak power difference, just that in first and second it all comes in and the midrange feels WAY better. It was also lagging a bit on each gear shift prior to the boost controller :(

    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
