I'm looking at buying a stagea... this week and paper work could be sorted friday.

i was just wondering how hard it is to get parts and are they usually more expensive?

it's a 98 rs4.

with engine parts could these just come from an australian skyline of the same engine type?

and in regards to panels will they be purely imported unless we're lucky enough to find a wrecked one?

cheers, Mick

you have pretty much hit the nail on the head. there are more parts for the serries one than the 2. more and more parts and cars are now becoming more plentiful. most parts can be bought direct through nissan (exported from japan)

there is no australian delivered skyline (other than the r31) but repco and other aftermarket parts stores have the r33 listed (they may as well been australian delived they are like dogs balls)

The stagea is a cross breed between the 33 and the 34 mechanically and unique in most body parts.

Exactly right. That said, if all else fails, parts can be purchased directly from Nissan (but they are crazy expensive). 9 times out of 10, you'll be able to find almost any body part quite quickly with the exception of rust-free front doors (I had 1 door skin replaced, and the other repaired - they all rust just below the side mirrors)... They're now poplular enough that they're getting a lot less rare at the wreckers...

thanks all. thats good to hear, although i am in w.a ....

That actually works in your favour. There are a few yards in Perth that already have non complied S1 & S2's bought in for parts, as they are a popular (read cheap) way of getting second hand RB25DET's.

I have just been trying to source a new windscreen and it has been a fair pain in the arse i gota say, i haven't tried lookign at wreckers etc for a second hand one though so if that would do you then i guess it would be easier but me on the otherhand wanted new. Mainly because my insurance (shannons) is covering it as it is part of the policy. Has taken me almost 2 weeks of calling all different nissan places and windscreen mobs before acutally getting someone to check stock in Japan. It is now bing shipped and the cost of the part alone is over $900, so as you can imagin im reasonably happy im not the one paying. My windscreen is cracked but not undrivable thankfully glad i didn't need it in a hurry. Also something that i found interesting was that guy at nissan told me there were 4 different varieties of windscreen available for a stagea and that he needed the specific model number etc before it could be ordered... don't see how there would be a difference between them though?

Anyway just my 2c :D cheers

The windscreens themselves don't differ, however different levles of kit had different glass treatments/upper screen tints etc.

I find it kinda surprising you can't get one tho, I know a few people on here have had theirs repelaced by windscreens o'brian with no dramas

Welcome to the Stagea section, as people say there are many sources, hope you never need body panels but if you do <www.importmonster.com.au> seems to be a good starting point, browse "wgnc34" & see what comes up.

Regards GW

I can only assume GTSBoy is thinking of the mill up on the wollondilly, no restaurant there any more but they have restored the original steam engine on site and run it every few months, have an annual steampunk festival etc @The Bogan, you came to the wrong town for restaurants. we have a few reasonable asian and indian options but the Paragon is as good as it gets otherwise.
