niran
hey guys/girls i have a Apexi pen type turbo timer. i have a quick question that would be appreciated if i could get an answer to it. i installed the turbo timer myself (only the timer) however the Apexi pen comes with O2 and Air/Fuel Ratio also, however to connect it , you have to splice two wires on the ecu. i have the Apexi ecu diagram for the stock R32 gts-t Ecu. However i have a aftermarket G-zone chipped ecu. What i wanted to know was, are the wires to splice still going to be in the same location on the male connector. or would it be located somewhere else. Thanks niran Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/218759-turbo-timer/ Share on other sites

R31Nismoid
they will be the same. the ecu pins wont change just because of a tune-chip. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/218759-turbo-timer/#findComment-3862659 Share on other sites
paulr33
you only splice one wire, which is the stock 02 sensor wire the other wire you might be thinking of is the handbrake wire Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/218759-turbo-timer/#findComment-3862662 Share on other sites

QWK32
you only splice one wire, which is the stock 02 sensor wirethe other wire you might be thinking of is the handbrake wire nah, if you follow the wiring instructions from apexi, they want you to splice the earth wire for the timer onto an ecu earth. but like you said, there is also another wire for the hand brake. GeeTR
... or you could edit the attached pinout and electrical schematic, add some nice "tag" words to the post, so this thread shows up when people search... that would be shhmick yes An ECU earth, a "reference" earth, uses a common ground on all the delicate sensors, tis important you use it. magoo
Sorry i kno this is a bit of topic but are turbo timers legal to use on a car?i was under the impresion that they wernt as the car cannot be on without someone in it.. also from an insurance point of view you may not be paid out on a claim you make just a thort.. sorry for hijacking umm not sure if they are illegal, with turbo timers they have a 'safety' (well i know the apexi pen style tt's do) when u hook it up, its wired to the hand break as well, TT only stay on if the handbreak is up, once u drop the handbreak the tt will cut out. meant to prevent the hijacking problem hope that helps Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/218759-turbo-timer/#findComment-3895679 Share on other sites
