Having a look at the first page you need a wakefield or CAMS/AASA License to be a passenger?

Also I take it we don't need the blue triangle type marker for the battery or secondary bonnet restraint?

No to all of the above :woot:

I'm fairly sure you just need to sign a passenger disclaimer.
You need either a CAMS L2S licence or a Wakefield/AASA Licence. The CAMS one costs $88 a year and is used on most tracks around the country for a number of different kind of events (particularly the L2S open days that a number of us go to quite regularly) and must be purchased before the event. You need to be a member of a CAMS affiliated club, like SAU, to get one of these too. The Wakefield licence costs $50 a year and is available on the day from the track. Please note that any passengers will also require one of these licences.

That was on the first page, Just though it meant passengers would need one of those licenses at least. If not thats great.

Actually it's just changed. Passengers do not need a license but the purpose of passengers is "driver training".

Albert - I might have some for you.

Scott - Don't worry I already put you in the second fastest group. Groups will be announced shortly.

So does that mean that passangers are allowed? I am bringing a passanger and need to let him know if he will be allowed in the car around the track.

Thanks.

They were always allowed. Now they just don't need a license but still need to sign a disclaimer.

I just updated this in the first post.

Gates open officially at 8am although they usually appear to be open by about 7:30.

Sign on from 8am.

Scruitineering at the scruitineering shed from 8am until 8:40.

Drivers briefing and full track walk around at 8:40am - ALL DRIVERS MUST ATTEND.

First session which will be noobs 9am.

Remember there are a lot of people to get signed on so can I suggest that noobs get there as early as possible, sign on before doing anything else then get your car ready and scruitineered. Scruitineering will stop at 8:40 for the drivers briefing and start again for the stragglers at 9.

The scruitineering will be done at the shed behind the garages. Two lines, noobs to the left, the rest to the right. Bring your helmet and what you will be wearing on the track as all this needs to pass scruitineering too.

I've got a very Newbie sounding question but I am a newbie....(and I did a search but coudln't find anything)

I need to buy a helmet for Saturday....I am assuming any helmet I buy from a motorbike shop will be good enough as long as it is a full face...also what sort of money would i expect to spend...I assume all helmets sold in Aus are approved??

Anyone in Newcastle bought one up here recently, if so who from???

Ah good question.

You can use full or open face. We reccommend full face as it's more protective.

Any motorbike shop can sell you one to your buget. You are looking from $120 - 2k if you like.

This all depends on what you want to use it for. A cheapie $120 should do you fine

Just make sure that it fits properly. When you put the helmet on make sure it's very snug. Not too tight so it's pushing your cheeks in. But wobble your head around with it on. If it moves around it's too loose.

Try this place

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
