yeh, everyone hears up and down reports on every single workshop, its just natural, but they have done everything right by me, even went and picked up the car for me (2hrs away).

ill run it in then go back and get the next lot of goodies, probably buy tess's old car also, and get the body work ready for the motor to be thrown into.

not sure whats wrong with the clutch, the car didnt even make it onto the dyno, it hasnt even seen 500km's i dont think. nor has it seen any abusive driving.

the gold coast has been in wet weather for the last 2 weeks so iv hardly been able to put any load on the car anyway, so the tyres are acually more slippery then the old nagnkangs i had on there....

dont know whats gone on.... but feeling pretty annoyed... will post photos of the clutch when we get it out.

ok so a few months later... New twin plate in the car, little harder to drive then the Jim Berry but feels good at the moment.

car is sitting on about 490atwhp, just finished driving it from the gold coast to melbourne and back again, EVERY tank of fuel i filled up at 420-440km and the fuel light wasnt on yet... so fairly decent fuel economy for the power it has...

Did a bit of a highway squirt and lost oil pressure at about 7,000rpm in 5th gear... light came on just as i grabed the key to shut it off, just as i went to turn the key pressure came right back up to normal, scared the hell out of me, so now getting rid of the N1 oil pump and putting a ASR 8.5L sump in there with a Nitto oil pump (purely for peice of mind).

also doing a E85 tune and hoping to get close to that 600hp goal i originally wanted, will be a stretch out of the baby 3540 turbo with .86rear...

CJ

ps... anyone on the goldcoast brisbane area own a supersnake mustang 2009+ or a 2010+ srt8??

forgot to mention the fuel side of things...

Twin feed rail

880cc injectors

040 Lift pump

2.5L Surge Tank

2x 044 pumps mounted to the surge tank.

what is that piece in the boot and why do u need it if u don't mind me asking?

Dont ask about the clutch. end of story.

bit of a squirt yes... umm...on track of course.

reason for the road trip...i always wanted to drive my car along the great ocean road... just once, was a great experience but now that it is done i wont be driving that car down there again.

DVS32R - Also tried Filling the Sump up an extra 1L of oil...didnt work.

Riley - because iv gone for a new turbo and E85tune, which was always the plan, so i just had it all ready for when these come along.

ya im just trying to learn/get ideas so i dont even know what that piece in the boot is, i thought it was an external fuel pump. not sure

Yeh its 2x 044 fuel pumps with a 2.5L surge tank.

car just pushed out 630rwhp using the new GTX turbo on e85, still the 35series with a .86rear on it, 27psi.

think thats the max the little .86 rear can do, as we tried 2-3psi more and didnt gain anymore power.

still...630rwhp is a great effort for the baby turbo! big thanks to the guys at mercury! :)

    • So, I've had my V36 for about a month now and have already copped an "excessive exhaust noise" notification from QLD TMR, reported by someone in my local area. It's a twin as per the original, and can have a bit of a throaty note to it when idling cold 😄 and if I do get up it a bit, it can be noisy, but it did pass a roadworthy inspection before sale, so.... ... but in the interest of being a good neighbour, I do want to quieten it down a bit. Is anyone here running a quiet aftermarket cat-back on their V36 or 370Z? And the big, bold question: does an aftermarket cat-back really make much of a performance difference on these cars?
    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
    • Hi Guys, Does anyone know any aftermarket part numbers for a starter motor to suit the VQ25DET? I can find lots of alternative part number for the VQ35DE, which I assume would fit, but there is a lot of conflicting information out there. Thanks..
