i know first hand what its like before and after a remap going from stock 33 ecu to r32 ecu remapped, tuned by jeff, and there was MORE low down and more driveability.

dont listen to what everyone has to say about VCT... it doesnt do sweet f**k all really.

would luv to see wat your ecu would do in my car. just not gunna bother doin mine as im sellin the car shortly

i no its old topic, but im also thinking about getting my stock r32 ecu chip reprogrammed... but $500 sounds kinda lot of $$ since for that money i can almost get greddy emanage. are those pre-programmed eprom chips u find on ebay any good lol?

Dont get a pre programed one from Ebay mate...since when did Ebay stuff became trust worthy...IMHO i dont think $500 to get it flashed isnt expensive...its the most vital part of your car and your longevity of your motor mate...so really your call...

I have heard off Jeff at Turbo tune doing these and apparently they are really good tunes etc...give him a call and find out mate....i also dont think he charges $500

alright tnx mate... i also wouldn't trust ebay chips lol... god knws what they programmed on those eprom chips...

you probably could get an e-manage with the harness etc for $500 but who in SA will tune it? Last I heard basically no one here knows that much about them and on top of the price for an e-manage you have installation + dyno tune costs.

get all the mods that you want, store them till you have everything, get it all installed in one go and pussy it to a tuner for the r32 computer remap and tune for $500... then be done with it and enjoy it.

you can get a nistune addon which only costs around $200 for the addon and $200 for the licence... the main thing it does however is allow for realtime tuning... no needing to burn roms and insert them... the addon needs to be soldered in there, so you'd need to find someone competent however there are more than a few people in adelaide that can do it. The guys at morpowa and boostworx are endorsed by the manufacturer and my own mechanics @ Road & Track can get it done too.

Edit - Jeff from Speedlab uses these too

thanx, looks interesting.. i'll see simon @ morpowa about it. can that thing also remove 180 speed limit and fuel cut?

but yea soldering wouldnt be problem cause im electro-engineer lol

Matt the guy behind Nistune lives here in SA, he'll be able to solder it like he did mine in person

The 180 speed limit cut you can change with the software to anything you want

if anyone needs it i have a remapped chip for RB25det to suit a r32 ecu which can be used in a r33 or for the rb25det in 32.

Hey Carl is that to suit a series1 or series 2 33. Might be interested maybe :woot:

James if you want to keep your VCT then i would suggest on the lines of getting a VG30/300zx ecu wired to suit your R33 mate...if you go to a R32 ecu then you loose your VCT which apparently helps low-mid range

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
