Hey guys got a staggy series 2 engine in the 32 gts4 at the moment. Was running pretty well with gt2871 turbo s15 injectors q45 afm and remapped ecu... took these all out and put it back to standard and now its having massive problems starting.

Car currently has:

Front feed plenum with larger throttle body

Rb25 neo afm

Series 1 afm (engine is series 2 but people have told me it doesnt matter)

Series 2 coil packs

stock rb25 injectors

Stock turbo

These are the onyl things that have been replaced

Its struggling to start.. have got it started a couple of times but runs like dog shit.

Plugged a power fc in .. still ran like shit and struggled to start.. obviously tuned differently but ..

Have injector pulse.. have spark..

Plugs foul up very quickly.. cleaned them numerous times..

Pull the cas out and spin it and injectors click.. not completely fluently but still click...

So given that.. im really not sure where to go from here

Any ideas would be much appreciated

if the stock ecu has been remapped to suit s15 injectors and q45

and you put the stock parts back in, it will run like a bucket of crap

likewise with the powerfc - i would expect same results

overfuelling, mega rich and just a boggy tune

my advice would be to put the PFC in and DATA INIT to factory defaults

then it should start first stop providing you have factory afm and injectors

or get yourself a standard s2 r33 ecu for 150 or so

well the best way is to list all the possible alternatives, then to cancel them out 1 by 1 effectively till you find out what it is. Now could it be theres not enough petrol?

Yeah heaps of fuel in the tank

Been told series 1 ecu should work but im having my doubts

an rb20det ecu was remapped.. but that has been removed and replaced by a stock series 1 ecu no remap

S1 no go with the coils you have

    • I also used Knox driveshafts when I the slip yoke T56 to the 3bolted TR6060 type. I believe I was one of his first jobs as it literally changed hands when I was there, started by the old owner and finished by the new. Everyone seemed pretty great about it. So wasn't shy/seemed pretty knowledgeable when dealing with weird custom people like me.
    • Just a reminder orange park was cool back in the day   and drifting the main circuit was even cooler   f**k I miss that car
    • We used Knox Drive shafts years ago when we were doing gravel rally, good guy but I heard it had changed hands? He's got a lot of stuff and is miles cheaper than GJ and so on. He used to have a lathe setup with a MIG torch on the tool holder so he could get the uni welds just right, quite a clever guy. I just got a driveshaft done for my sequential installation and that was through Balancing Services Australia in Preston, they did the Gibson cars in the old days. New genuine CV's, billet yoke, new centre bearing and chome moly shaft was $2k.
    • Thanks for sharing that mate, I've got a couple of spares on the shelf but all the unis are tight....will give old mate a shout. BTW are you sure it wasn't just a $400 paint job? Any detail of what they replaced (cut/reweld?)
    • Yeah I saw that about the US Q50 recently, apparently it was shown to Inifiniti dealers (probably to help with their depression about the cars they can sell). Seemed like a really obvious step to me, the platforms are very similar in many ways. Even if there aren't many people who actually put the money up it should really help with image/reputation. What hasn't been clear anywhere if that is a V38 model of if they are just going to add the trans as an option in a new model year. What they did with the Z from 370z to "Z" is just weird so I'd be surprised if they released this as a V38. Great news for me to have an option; it is far from confirmed that I can get any decent track sessions through the auto so having a manual I can swap to is great.
