hi guys,

is it possible to drop the sump whilst the engine is in the car - or do i need to lift out the engine to do this?

i want to fit a sump baffle kit to avoid oil surge...

another question - what kit is recommended? i had the greddy kit on my other gtr but the sump was lower than the cross member, 1 good bump on the road & its gone!

hi octane have a good kit which has the swinging gates in it, what else is out there?

i remember seeing a kit that fits inside the stock sump but are they good?

i have been using the Tomei one in the drift car and am extremely happy with it (datalogging oil pressure around mallala and qld raceway shows no issues) it has rubber gates inside.

You can do it without removing the engine BUT it takes twice as long and is a bitch to remove the 4 10mm nuts inside bellhousing. I would not even consider it.

recent thread over here

i decided motor out was easier, and I was right in that case. motor was out in 1.5hrs and back in the same day.

for me properly cleaning the gasket goop off the sump surface was a deciding factor
