hey guys.

i have a r32 gts-t. I have a 25neo turbo on is and a metal intake pipe, but it still has the hose that come off the rocker cover going into the intake pipe.

I opened the bonnet today, and noticed a nicely size pool of oil directly underneith the pod filter. i took the pod off and the inside was covered in oil as well as the AFM. I havnt had this happen before, even on track.

What has caused this and why?

Any help is appreciated!

Cheers, Josh

Thanks for the help guys!

I don't have an oil catch can. I wasn't thrashing it or sitting on high rpm and then looked under the bonnet. Just got up in the morning and went to change my power steering belt. I don't drive it daily either, just had to move it around the driveway yesterday, hasn't received any punishment lately. So it cant be blowby...

Ill take the intake pipe off and have a look, but not to sure what im looking for lol, how do i know if the seals have gone?

If the seals have gone on your turbo the compressor wheel will most likely be drowning in oil.

This may also be the case with blowby so just check the oil breather hose it would be filled with oil if heaps has come through it.

Ok, so i took off all the piping today. The inside of the metal intake pipe is covered in oil, a nice coating. The silicon joiner the connects the mouth of the turbo to the intake pipe has a pool of oil in it. The mouth of the turbo has some oil in it, maybe a teaspoon. The Impeller wheel looks fairly dry, but like i said i havn't really driven it in a while, or given it any shit. So with all this found, plus the oil that has come out of the pod and pooled below it im not too sure what to think....

Would it be blowing white smoke? i started it up and didn't notice any on idle.

Actually no i havnt, ill go do that now.

Im happy and devo at the same time lol. If the turbo has gone, im not going to bother replacing it, as i have been looking for an excuse to put a RB25 in.

but i was hoping to make it to the next drift prc...

Ill be back in 15, and let yous know if i find any oil in the cooler.

Ok well i think that im going to put it all back together now, go for a drive and see if i can see any white smoke coming out of the exhaust.

If there isnt any, does this mean that the seals are still good, and i have some how just had an extreme case of blow by?

Ok what i have done is make a dodgie coke bottle catch can, and blocked off the hole going into the intake. this way i will be able to see if it is actually oil coming out of the turbo, and not get it confused with blow by.

Ok im not to sure whats going on. Like i said i cleaned up all the piping and put it all back on. Then made a dodgie catch can (moved the hose that goes into the intake into a coke bottle), and then went for a spirited drive. Now i would expect after a spirited drive that there would be some oil in the catch can...i got nothing in there, dry as a bone! Also took the intake pipe off again to have a look and cant see any more oil. So i officially have nfi whats going on...

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product, that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
    • Yes sir am asking is there possible way from aem tuner from wiring pins
    • Have you checked cam to crank timing and confirmed balancer marks are correct?
