Hopefully that should spread the crowd out a bit more, and we can get a few more runs in then.

Another thing that would be good to see is a Saturday night meeting similar to the ones held in the US, to give the guy's at the illegal runs somewhere to go. i think the ones over there are just 1/8th mile, which may be easier to control, and I think that it could actually be a profitable venture for them as well considering the numbers racing on the street now.

Jeff.

Jeff,

Brett and I ran the first run @ 6:46pm, 2nd @ 8:08pm, 3rd @ 9:11pm and 4th @ 9:55pm.

4 runs in one night with just over 3 hours racing total and down to one lane for half an hour. Very impressive!

Yeah, was great. I got 4 runs in too and unlike you guys I wasn't the first in stage :)

I imagine that without the 1 and a half hour + rain delay we may well have got 5 runs.

Am I right in saying that there was only the one blow up? (the 180)

For those that care I ran:

best ET 13.4, 6ft 1.82, mph 100 (pulsar GTI-R, first ever drag attempt).

You will love the new track Jeff, it's awesome comming out through the tunnel into the ampitheatre!

Richard

From a spectators p.o.v the cars were moving through much quicker than the old track.

I do believe that being the first night opened and also with the threat of rain that many people would have stayed away.

Yeah, the staging and stuff all seemed to be working pretty smoothly.

Also, you're right some people (pussies mainly) may have stayed away due to the convenient excuse provided by the rain! j/k

11.18 @ 128mph thats on full slicks though.

So Brett is doing 128 on Nitto's? Would love to see if the other driver/car could replicate that feat on Radials. I'm guessing Brett's car is running more like 482hp, not 500. lol ;-)

Adrian

well, i would be happy with 482 rwhp. Im not too far off lol only like 100+rwhp (im being sarcastic here). We'll see how much soon at our dyno day happening up here in QLD. If i get over 125mph i would be happy. With some more boost i should do it. In its current tune i think 124mph is max. We'll see once i head out again some time in the future if i dont sell it. After all this shit i went through i aint to happy.

    • Possibly avoid using a Cometic one unless the deck/head surface are perfectly flat. I did have a look just then and forgiving gaskets such as Tomei or Nitto don't exist for the FJ20, however the Bar-Tek or Kameari ones look good and might do the trick.
    • Because pipe threads for pipe things. M threads for bolt things. Throw some teflon sealant onto it and dust your hands off knowing you did the right thing, instead of going twice around the block to achieve a result using the wrong things. Of course, all of these solutions are ignoring the fact that the minimum thread pitch we're talking about here is 1.25mm, with the 1/4" in NPT or BPS being out around 1.4mm. You will need to know that the boss you're tapping has enough thickness for at least a few threads. That's one of the reasons that 1/8" is commonly used - because the pitch is <1mm. And why would you look to use 1/4" NPT in a BSP country anyway? Ugh.
    • Just throwing around ideas, does it need to be in the compressor cover? Why not the hot side piping?
    • 1/8NPT drill size = 8.7mm. Since the hole got messed up by me, it’s probably around 9mm.    So 1/4” NPT would be next step. A drill size of around 11mm would be preferred there which is not way of my M12 (drill 10.5mm and tap M12 threads)
