I recently put a microtech in my r32 gts-4, the car is all finished and up and running, but the 4wd system isnt working. It has the 3 lights on 4wd, hi-cas, and anti-lock. its the same as if you pulled the 4wd fuse in a gtr (yes i checked the fuse - and its fine)

can anyone point me in the right direction? has wiring diagrams? or can give me a hand(brisbane- northside)?

Cheers

u need to hook the tps signal wire from the attessa ecu upto the tps signal on the ecu (tee in the wire), i dont know what wire is the one as i dont have a gtr but it will be in the front near the ecu and coming from a big plug that runs to the rear of the car, im sure someone on here will have the colour or a diagram to help :D

I totally rewired the TPS for the microtech. so i assume then i need to run a wire from the tps to the attessa computer?

yes but you need a buffer circuit as the tps signal to the Microguess will be affected by the ATTESSA i have had something designed and built to compensate this probelm.

Microguess is right , do you know what "specifications" each circuit needs to be so i can get a similar unit made up? Cheers for your help

or does anyone know where i can get a "premade" one?

Ok I have the EXACT same problem with a Microtech LT10S running a RB25DET (also the VCT is unplugged and microtech tech support were quite unhelpful on how I go about enabling it, or whether the ECU comes with the bit needed for it) I'd also be looking at some way to run just the Microtech with ATTESSA - It's got plugs on the loom to piggyback the standard GTS4 ECU, but then I'd have to sit it on the passenger side floor :S

I don't have the ABS light coming on though so I assume that works, and I have a HICAS lock bar (light only comes on occasionally when driving at 110km/h on freeways)

mine seems fine so far just hooked straight upto my autronic tps signal, what signs does it show if its not correct?

The attesa ecu needs to recieve 0-3.5v signal for the tps signal, the stock ecu outputs this signal from the 0-5v signal coming from the tps.

I have a link ecu and the voltage coming from the tps is 0.2-3.7v which is pretty close so i just hooked it up and it works fine.

Link use an op-amp with 0.7 gain to modify the signal in their plug in ecu's. You could get somebody to make you one for a case perhaps

If you have a 0-5v tps signal straight onto the attesa ecu, the ecu will think you have 100% throttle when your at 70% which is not really a bad thing, it will bring the 4wd on earlier :P

good info, so whats needed exactly to fix this, i have found a fair bit of understeer when going hard into corners as if 4wd is coming on too early, but not sure if thats normal or not

i have a fix for this

does anyone have a wiring diagram for a gts-4 by any chance (engine and attessa would be nice :D )?

engine diagrams are identical gtst/4 the see this thread, contact the member for a copy of the manual on cd.

you need to download the gtr wiring diagrams. i dont have them on me anymore, but on the biggest diagram, the plus is in the bottom left, i think its called wc3. you have to blow up the pics and print them out on a3 and you can nearly read thw colours, but you can follow the lines from the plug to the end of the wire.

There is a page just for the attesa/abs ecu, you can use a multi meter on the correct pin on the ecu and a long wire back to the cabin to find the correct wire.

i have a fix for this

i noticed that in your first post, hence i asked what exactly do i do or what do i need to buy or what do u want to sell me? :D

and a price would be good if u have got something for sale to fix it. I would like this asap as i have a track day soon and understeer sucks.

ok update, what i need is the attessa pin out, im going to run a wire from the microtech tps 0-5v wire.

I just looked to see whether the attessa was spitting out any error codes and the led was not flashing at all. made me think because if it was TPS it would be throwing code 21 shouldn't it?

    • Here's the chart for fuel pressure vs. current draw, assuming your base fuel pressure is 3 bar and you run like 0.5bar boost on WOT, you should only momentarily hit 9amps here and there. (Ignore my prev post, I cannot read a chart these days it seems)
    • Those comp test results are not hideous. Whether they are accurate or not (ie, when that comp tester says 140 psi, is the real pressure120, 140 or 160?) is unknown to us. The state of the battery used to crank it over is unknown, etc etc. Many people around here would say that the absolute values and the spread are perfectly fine to just add boost and keep going. I personally would be happier with a narrower spread than that, but even the diff between 125 and 145 is not terrible. That one cylinder at 125 though, has probably copped some damage relative to the others. You should inspect the valves seeing as you've got it open. Do you know how to measure installed ring gaps? That, and an inspection of the rings themselves, is how you will determine whether they need to be replaced. If you're not good to do these things, take the block and the pistons and rings to a shop that is, and ask them for the go/no-go on them. Do the bores need a hone at all? If so, you might well be justified in getting some different pistons in order to get away from the ring supply problem. Whether you're happy to spend a lot more money right now, on more gear, rather than less money, but an amount that looks stupid given that you will only get a handful of rings in exchange for that money, is for you to decide.

    • Ok so i would love some advice here please, i purchased an R33 a few months back and its had a few mods done to the engine, its an RB25det running a Master ECU, 1200cc injectors, bigger turbo, oil cooler, oil filter relocation kit, Spool H-beam rods, acl/ross pistons. When i removed the motor from the vehicle (as its getting a respray) i thought i would compression test it and these are the following results. Cylinder 1-145psi, Cylinder 2-143psi, Cylinder 3-125psi, Cylinder 4-145psi, Cylinder 5-140psi, Cylinder 6-135psi this test was done with the motor on the ground and powering up the starter motor. I dropped the sump and found broken oil squirters on cylinder 3,5 and 6. I was told my rings are probably worn so i stripped the motor completely to get a new set of rings for it. The trouble is no one has these rings anywhere and they have to be custom made by Ross over in the states and will cost about $600+$200 delivery. My question is how can i tell if my rings are at fault and if they are still ok and is this price ok for a set of rings?
