Wakefield Park Track Day 16/9/03- all welcome (organised by OZ GTI-R Owners Club)

Recommended Posts

Hi,

For anyone who is interested, the GTI-R Owners Club (Australian Chapter) is holding a track day at Wakefield Park, to be held on Tuesday 16 September.

The day is primarily for GTI-R owners to test their cars on the track, but as we are a small club we would welcome SAU members (or anyone) who would like to come. For the day to be fun (not too many cars) but affordable we have limited places to 35 participants. This makes the cost $50 each :D

Be aware that to drive you will either need a cams licence or a "wakefield licence" which costs $30 (valid for 1 year) and you will need to have (or hire for $20) an approved helmet. For more info on Wakefield Park go to: http://www.wakefieldpark.com.au

If you would like to come, you will need to pay your $50 in advance, to do so, or for more infor PM me :D

This will be a great day and a chance to get away from speed limits and speed humps and enojy your car as it's maker intended.

Richard

ha haah - just a joke for the GTiR guys.

A GTiR that ran an 11.4. should go better soon...

But yeah, hope you can come, the more the merrier. :)

C'mon guys! Where are all the die-hard track-fiend, schumacher wannabe skyline pilots? Consider this: A lightly modified GTST should be a good match for a gti-r. Both 2 litre (1 a 6, 1 a 4), both single turbo, one rear wheel drive, one four wheel drive. I guarantee a good day :P

Duncan,

We have hired the track for the day :)

Hope to see some of you there.

Wooo Hoo! Almost empty track!

I'll have to confirm closer to the date, but I'll be along for sure if work is OK...can't wait to whip some of those little gtirs :)

BTW, 11.4sec is bloody quick around wakefield, I can hardly get below 71sec :D

The only way I am going to beat one of these things around the track is if it has stock suspension with compliance wheels and tyres:cool:

& maybe if he has his hands sticky taped to the steering wheel!

I didn't have this much power of the FMIC last time I went down. best time I did all day was 1 min 21 secs. my mate with the stock as a rock MR2 did a 1 min 16secs I think. he was laughin the whole way home!

I may be able to fit it in...let you know closer.

I think they're talking about that straight line track thingy not real driving Duncan. :D [flack jacket]

Been hanging to go down again, havent had a licence for 3 months so gives me some actual competition down there!!

maybe let us know how many places are available for SAU members!!

    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid.  Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX.  But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
    • That's one of the reasons I got that breed, they look weird, the other reasons are they small, they are very vocal, and run around like they are on crack, I didn't want a breed that just sits around, these two are like kids on red cordial  My daughter has one, and it's a laugh riot, constantly doing Parkour around the house, sits on her shoulder, plays catch, and constantly runs around the house taking turns chasing the dog around, her Bermese though, just lays around with constant bitch face, and just looks on in utter disgust at the cat and dog playing together
    • I'm getting PTSD flashbacks seeing that name again.  With my turbo swift, I got 1,500km of street use on a Jim Berry clutch before it exploded and took out my input shaft with it.
