Yeah I can vouch for NextG wireless, i use one for work... Shitloads better than all of the others, in coverage and speed (I've tested 3, vodaphone and unwired). The only downside is cost, it's pretty expensive!! Like $89 for 1GB per month on a 24 month contract... ouch!

Well if its telstra we all know we arnt going to get a good deal.. prob be $1000 for the dongle, $90 a month for 2g and $100 a mb after that.

At least they have good returns for there stock holders, oh wait there stocks suck.

Thanks doof :D for everyone else www.iinet

you're right, it's not really cheap... but it is really good...

The dongle (hehe) can come free on a $80 plan (i think) below that you have to buy it... the series 7 (old) can be flashed with the new software to make it the same speed as the series 8's... So unless you wanna spend a huge amount, there's no point buying a damn expensive dongle...

hehe

And that makes my day complete. LoL

All i seen was 'no home phone line'. If it helps,,,my home internet is T'd from the foxtel cable.

Telstra internet with wireless router

Telstra also does a wireless modem aswell.but the modem has to be T'd into the foxtel cable then

its wireless from modem to desktops/laptops.

The cheapest and easiest way will be to just get your phone line hooked up ($30/mth) and get a cheap 512k ADSL1 plan with someone like aaNet for $25/mth so all up about $55/mth which is only about $15/mth more than using unpredictable wireless.

No go with foxtel?

Also, Tivo is coming out soon, supposedly you can use it with your tv to access

the internet.

Your Tivo also needs an internet connection, so it's just passing the internet through to the TV from your ADSL/other connection :)

fatz, did you ever get porn working at home? I just moved into a new place and getting the hook up. going with iinet in the end, and I noticed they have naked dsl now which means you not need phone line. they will give you the porn even without the phone. but I'm not sure how you will ring hot gossip without it? I gues you can use mobile.

now I have an actual question. where in sydney is cheap computer hardware retailers? I need to buy a new ADSL2 modem (with wireless router) and some other gear. leaning towards the billion 7300N. any suggestions gratefully received.

I wouldn't touch Billion mate, then again I wouldn't touch D-Link either, but that is just me.

Go for a Linksys.

well I've always been very keen on netgear.

a while ago when ADSL first hit the scene I had a billion ADSL mode/router and it was good. worked as it was supposed to. after about 4 years the power button broke, but I just taped it up and after that it was sweet until I upgraded.

then I tried a linksys, just wouldn't work with my config. tried a belkin, same problem and it was crap. then bought a netgear. easiest modem/router I have ever set-up. allowed my (then) out of the norm configuration and literally took maybe 2 mins to set-up.

I was very happy with it.

but I'm willing to look at linksys again. Can you suggest a comparable model that does the same stuff as that billion 7300N? cheersu. (^_^)

d-link works fine for me - setup around 3-4 wireless networks without a problem all been running for over 2yrs

Same here, I have a DSL504T & a dl524 running here, no probs.

To the OP, have you tried using satellite net connection? It cost A LOT though for speed thats not much better than ADSL.

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
