the guy that started this thread now thinks everyone else is being stupid and wants the thread locked? This is so typical of a forum.

On another note. I had Jim tune my drift car last night and he once again provedwhat a guru he is. The guy has more talent than anyone here will ever know.

Fernando Weirhl drove the car and was shocked at how well it drove. its not jsut how much power you make but how you make it.

Jim once said something to me that i will always remember...

"I don't care where they take their cars, because i know they will eventually end up here."

It looked a bit underpowered to me but for all I know it had a stock turbo.

Does nobody like Rigoli/Vince Rigoli? Seems to be a fairly large shop that hasn't been mentioned?

Rigoli custom built my neighbours car which is a 69 Capri with a Cosworth turbo race motor, and has always been beyond happy with Vince's work. My neighbour calibrates hospital equipment for a living, has an unbelievable attention to detail, and is extremely picky, but has never had a bad word to say about Vince.

I used them a couple of times when i had the 33, and again not a single bad word about them. Not the cheapest around, but neither are alot of the others mentioned and as said you get what you pay for.

I'm actually considering going to Vince to turbo my V35, as i know he has turbo'd many NA cars before with great results.

Yeah I was unaware he tuned lines either!

But seems to be good!

Bobby - yes, turbo the V35

If it stays with me, then there's a chance.

Looked into a HKS twin kit, which basically has all parts for around $6-$7k. Bolt in on, tune, and an instant safe 300rwkw!!!!

From the cars I've seen come out of Rigoli I would call them forced induction experts rather than Skyline experts. A mate supercharged a corolla thorugh them with stunning results, and again my ex neighbours car is beyond comment.

This is the Capri. When he was next door, I used to get a hard on hearing this thing start up on a Sunday morning!

my drift car isnt underpowered, its over gripped!!! Its going back for full tune this Saturday and gets cams next Saturday

But which turbo, and don't you think you should put the cams in BEFORE the tune? I don't know heaps about SR's but I know what I like.

Bobby, you need to have a little chat with Jim at Dart and ask him about some of the wild things he can do with a VQ :)

You know you want a stroker :D

Nooo, leave me alone Nick, I'm trying to sell it not get more ideas :-)

I've seen a couple in the US, and they are crazy!!!

Being just a V35 though, it's a big investment and to do it will have to decide to keep the car, well, for ever!

This Nick (me) is with that Nick (Blitz). C'mon, Bobby, you know you want to!!!

haha, what is this the Nick and Nick show :)

Well it got me thinking and looked into it abit. The parts for a stroker kit (3.5l going to 4.2l) will set me back around $6000. That's for a full kit, all parts needed. Then you have to factor in machine shop work, plus the actual install.

I also found a stroked engine to 4.2l with HKS twin turbo for $15k plus delivery from the US.

Now if i win lotto, expect to see that on the car.

but, again leave me alone, I'm trying to sell it!!!!

I believe Jim's quote regarding the VQ stroker TT was 'easy 1000HP' :)

Just enough for an enjoyable daily driver.

*edited by admin* let it go paul. you are only going to end up banned again if you don't learn from your warnings

for goodness sake...i was only trying to help the fella...so he didn't cop it from you guys like i did...edited my post but left his there...go figure? and my post didn't mention anything slanderous or defamatory.

this is starting to get beyond a joke.

i think an explanation via pm would be helpful as the rules are very blurred if that post was at all out of line.

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
    • There is a guy who said he can weld me piping without having to cut chassis, maybe I do that ? Or do I just go reverse flow but isn’t reverse flow very limited once again?
    • I haven’t yet cut the chassis, maybe I switch to a reverse flow. I’ve got the Intercooler mounted as I already had it but not cut yet. Might have to speak to an engineer
    • Yes that’s another issue, I always have a front mount, plus will be turbo plus intake will big hasstle. I’ve been told if it looks stock they’re fine with it by a couple others who have done it ahahaha.    I know @Kinkstaah said the stock gtt airbox is limiting but I might just have to do that to avoid a defect so it atleast looks legit. Or an enclosed pod so it’s hidden away and feed air from the snorkel and below Intercooler holes like kinstaah mentioned. Hmm what to do
