I think the lack of chicaines is going to hurt the emo's and wrx's. Rossarden is going to be really fast without those chicains, will be lots of time to make up with good notes, as it will be bloody scary for most.

Totally agree, if the two girls in the Unique Evo were in the main game, well, there'd be something wrong if they weren't giving Jeff a real good run for his money in E Mod. Reading through the list I'm actually suprised how relatively uncompetetive it looks! Why did Shaw pull out?

I wouldn't be too concerned for the Evo's and STi's Benny, from some of the figures I hear the things make when nicely tuned on E85 it's actually the Lambo and Porsche guys that should be worried! lol

And I totally agree on Rossarden, I'd be running full peak coming over that crest without a chicane there as a buffer :D I hope everyone has good brakes!

I think shaw was scared off by this wepon http://www.targa.org.au/Competitors/profil...0Early%20Modern . E Mod dosn't look like it'll get any media coverage at this rate. we'll have to create some media interest for 2011 :D

still don't know if E85 is worth it, you've got more power, but your lugging extra weight around. I've heard some people say they'd need a 120l in a emo to run it.

One of my relitive is running a block of flats (volvo 242) in the rookie classic, i've told him not to crash, as the greens will kill him from putting such a big hole in the scenery :D

Well Im doing Targa now woo yeh! Except I'll be one of the first cars on the road every day and not appear in the results...

Navving for a bloke in the Zero Car, its a Mazda 6 Sport Diesel being supplied by Mazda for the event. Should be a bit of fun, no pressure and still get a buzz  and importantly it will get me back on notes in preparation for Mt. Stuart Sprint with Benny in June. It has been 12 months since I looked at pace notes and I pulled some out the other day and began scratching my head. What tha fudge does that mean :ermm:

Oh and I didn't want to go off topic in the the other thread about Serge's R34, but am I right in saying that E85 will be compulsary from 2011??? Im sure I read it somewhere...

If it were the case with Arrowsmith maybe they could put a pitstop in half way and make it F1 style (IE you can win it or lose it in the pits Lol!)

Good to see you're in Timmy, even if it's in one of those Mazda things

And good to see the smack down talk has started, albeit a little late.

I'm back in with the llama in the new & improved ATTKD Select SP- Go Car 803!

Should be an interesting Targa, some of my local mates are already predicting it will be wet?

Oi....just 'cos we're good looking AND fast! :P

Seriously though, have tried numerous times dangling the full Targa carrot in front of Handbags, but to no avail. "You only get to have a crack at Rookie once" says he. Well experience says I get to do it twice! :P

Fingers crossed we can set the place alight (so to speak) and show some form on the results page come Thursday night.

Kel, are you guys staying at the Penny Royal again?

what trick bits does a ATTKD Select SP have?

I'd tell you Ben, but then I'd have to kill you :P

Lucky Stu came good with the info

Yep Dan, staying at Penny Royale again - is that where you are?

We should organise an SAU catch up, everyone's schedules permitting?

    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
