Jaye I used to run 14psi on a night out and 11psi for daily driving.. Compared to what it has become it was greaT on fuel..

you could run 13psi no worries.. got a r34 turbo if u wanna highflow it .

the r34 one will bolt straight on? does the r34 gtst turbo still have the ceramic turbine? i may have to talk more about this with you Nath. very tempting.

I believe the R35 achieved 295kw?

Fantastic day. Thanks to the organisers and to Envy.

It was a great chance for me and my dad to get some base line figures for our cars;

188awkW R33 GT-R, stock standard except for fujitsubo 3.5" exhaust and Midori cat

225awkw R34 GT-R, FconPro, boost controller, HKS induction and exhaust and a few other mods

We also managed to score a great photo opp with an R32, R33, R34 GT-Rs, and the Haltech R35 GTR on the rooftop... Will post some pics as soon as the forum issues are rectified.

Until then I've put some up on flickr.com if anyone's interested.

SAU!

Thanks to SAU, Herman & other Envy guys for arranging such a great Dyno Day + Nissan Motor Corpn. for making such great cars.

My black R34GTR has now had its 1st dyno and I thank Slim for the pics that I can now download from Photobucket.

I can't forget to thank my son ^^^ for dragging me along and daring this GTR.34Z car to either perform or blow up!

And thanks again for Vinnie/Herman & Corinne for helping to arrange the photo-shoot of Rohan's R32, Matt's R33, my R34 & the Haltech R35 up on the roof!

What a Blast!

Cheers,

Terry

^^^ +1 for Flickr shots above too

Yep fun day, have not been to one in a while.

R32 GTR, 550cc injectors, power fc, 1 bar boost and exhaust = 222 awkw (running a bit rich though 11.5:1)

Great to meet both Terry and Matt! (I will email you soon Terry regarding photos & video)

I seem to have annoying constant idle fluctuation between 1300-2000 :D Anyone have any ideas?

Hey Jaye,

Id recommend highflowing her and replacing it with ball baring internals however the R34 turbo has a bigger housing on the rear op6 to be exact so pumps out a touch more power. Highflowed you could see 250rwkw or less.

glad you had a good day :( I'll shoot over a few other pics of your car when I get a chance

Again, Sl!m, Many Thanks.

Sorry I didn't get to meet up with you via intro.

At 1.30, the Envy Group were still too busy to start the SAU meeting. Had to go back to the Mtns and detail my wife's car for sale.

PM me and I'll arrange to give you a dvd video disk that I took on the day.

Kind Regards,

Terry

lol all good nath

u will definately have to take me for a run next time i see ya! thought ur car sounded pretty beasty!

lol doof. wish mine ran 10 for no reason... how much psi u rekon the stock turbo can run? the bloke at Envy was sayin around 13.. not sure i wanna go that far but.

maybe im just bein soft and dont wanna stuff anythin :(

13 is the highest i would go daily driven... that's about the limit.

as you mentioned later, R34 turbos are different to R33 turbos, I wouldn't recommend running 14psi on a cold night out with the standard R33 GTS-t turbo. You might want to take him up on his offer though, even if you don't highflow it, it's still a spare and a slight upgrade :P

hey nath and doof.

might get the 34 turbo but wat would i have to change for the diff sized rear housing? just the dump pipe? maybe a silly question but still. was thinking also to maybe look into buying the KKR upgrade turbo. getting the turbo rebuilt is a bit out of my price leauge ($1950 from GCG at Condell Park).

DIRT GARAGE- the highest i saw was 369.5 for the blue r34 GTR ACCESS built by Envy Imports. but i wasnt there for the whole day.

pretty sure the white A&B Motorsports beat that, over 400, but I'm not sure... I was running around doing other shit...

The 34 turbo will bolt straight up, you can even use your dump pipe :(

Mine made 250rwkw - 4rwkw down on last time :(

Good to meet some new people - I was on bbq duties for most of the day with Ando and Dave :(

I think there was a RA23 celica with a 1J that made 360ish rwkw

I also love my new -4 camber :P althought you cant really see much from this shot

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
    • I feel there must have been a FB/insta post and the weekend did not start well at all I hope everyone is all okay
