Does anyone here know how to fix the clock in an r32 gtr. Apparently its very common and that most r32 gtr owners

have the same problem. Is it the fuse under the left hand side of the steering column maybe needs changing or does it have a fuse in the fuse box? Im sure someone out there knows or has fixed it!

Thanx Guys!

If you've got an aftermarket stereo, there's a good chance whoever installed it just wired it straight to the battery with an in-line fuse. Just check none of the blade fuses are blown first before you do anything else.

Very common issue. Normally isn't a fuse either. Auto Sparky quoted me $180 to fix it (they apparently have to take the dash apart)

The clocks in a hard to see position anyway

nope. not in a hard spot really at all.

take the cover off that if your in your drivers seat covers from about your shins to your knees (6 screws from memory but don't get caught because one is on the side of the dash that faces the drivers door) and lay with your head at the pedals and feet hanging out the door. (move the seat back as far as it'll go and steerig wheel up as high as it goes) and you'll see the back of the clock with 1 plug in it and 2 screws.

undo the screws, slide the whole thing out and undo the plug when you're sitting out in the driver seat (has a fair bit of slack)

there are 4 dry solder joins under the clock screen on 30 ohm resistors and these are the common problem. takes about 15 minutes to get it out if you have no clue what you're doing but i strongly strongly suggest you take it to an electronics shop to get the clock screen removed and the the soldering done as the screen is unbelievably easy to break and then you are screwed. (about $350 to buy a new clock from nissan) seriously thinking about doing it my self though. got the clock out about 10 minutes ago and looking at it now. don't think i'll risk it though , i'll be good. :)

if you live near flagstaff hill sa i'll help you get the clock out. take me about 20 minutes to get it out and have all the dash back in for driving till you want the clock back in.

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
