Hey Albert I'm definitely in for this mate, though I think I'll be the one having clearance issues at the ferry. Got the new car registered today, just got to fix up some last little electronics, alarm, lights/indicators - LOL. :)

Will be good to see you again mate.

Yey! watch out for rabbits n shit ok :(

If you have a lowered car, or a front bar like mine with alot of overhang then you might have dramas... std front bar and height, no dramas!

ok

factory front bar goes back on on the day

Ps Can someone post up a route for this drive, hopefully a map that highlights the route

that we gonna take :P

cheers!

every few months me and some friends go up to a place in the middle of nowhere and hire out a cabin for the weekend... its located between maroota and wisemans ferry on the hawksbury river. the roads out there are awesome..... theres a road called river road that is usually 1.5 lanes wide and is in good condition.... first night i went up there was about 8 months ago and i was driving up at 1am when it was raining..... gunning it around blind corners and all since i was the only car around and i doubt anyone lived out there let alone coppers... windy road to myself what would you do? anyway made it to my destination after sliding all over the road.... the next afternoon when i went home i took the same route back..... it was a clift drive along a river with nothing other than the occasional tree to stop me from falling in the river, luckily i didnt f**k up lol

but i recon we should do that drive one day in summer... from castle hill it will take about 3 hour drive round trip.... im not sure if theres more than one ferry that does the cars crossing on the hawksbury but on that road there is a car ferry so im wandering if its the same one you guys have been talking abour????

i'll organise the route if people are interested

lol yeah man sounds good, so for those guys with the low cars n shit, HARDEN THE F**K UP :woot:

yeap cruise will be on if the weather is happy, but worst case we can hide in maccas and sipping up slurrpy ;)

do you want to buy me a new bar????? :P nah jokes, should be good.

just follow me as per usual. ( depend how long or short of trip you want too)

berowra waters, is that where that sea food restaraunt is??? next to the water there?

i think i went there back in 2004

yeah, thats the one

forgot to say with choice 2 you have to cross another ferry at sackville which i think could be more dangerous than berowra ( again i think)

but all roads out there are fantastic it's just the way you want to go.

i like 2 the best aswell.... 1 is also pretty good,,,,, 3 is good but id rather do 1 or 2..... and if we cant get onto the ferry, we go back to pit town road and start the number 1 option???? or 3 depending how much time we got....

shane shane shane didn't you learn anything from "gone in 60 seconds"? You apparently do not need breaks to drive in the city/suburbia.... a good but silly movie at the same time

Sackville ferry is ok... never had a problem there... we have property on wisemans river there ;)

They updated it a little while ago with the hydraulic lifter thingys for the ferry... :(

make it a long cruise.

no speed cameras.

wollongong?

appin road brah!

oh, Choice two for me.

yo Anna, rekon i could get those brakes on by then?

Yep.. can do this weekend if you wants??? Just need to get them pretty red for you... so maybe we get them ready this weekend and install during the week???? Seeing you are nice and close and all!!!

Rears are still a couple of weeks away ;)

hahah no brakes for city/suburbia driving? NO PROBLEMS! get rid of speed cameras and traffic lights and all other traffic.

sweet Anna, ill just wait until the rears are ready so you can put them on together all at once!

How much to get them pretty red?

Haha. No way. In person these boys haven't got the balls to say the shit they post on here. 'Keyboard Warrior Syndrome' or KWS is what it's called. Don't take any of it personal, they're just having a bit of fun because you seem to be cool with it. If it's pissing you off, just say so.

Hey!!! I like being a 5ft 4" 62kg Keyboard Warrior.... and i have the balls to say that!!!! ;)

If you're talking about the plush one owned by the Swiss dude that you can only get to by boat or sea plane - then yes, Berowra Waters is the place.

    • GCG is a good company, they're a major distributor for Garrett in Japan as well.
    • Nah, OEM washer bottle and brake fluid reservoirs are fine I don't know what it is with the plastic that Mazda used, some plastics, like the washer bottle and brake fluid res are fine, and still look new after 20 years use, where as the coolant expansion tank, and PS reservoir, that I replaced with new OEM items when I first got the car, turned yellow and started getting brittle a few years later If the dirty yellow stained plastics didn't trigger me there wouldn't be an issue, but they did, much like the battery bracket....... Meh As for going back to work full time to support car stuff, nope, why, because I own a Mazda NC MX5, not a Nissan R series Skyline 🤣
    • I've never heard of CJ-motor, so can't advise you on them. I'd just go straight to GCG for a GCG highflow though. Seems no point to use a middleman. I'm somewhat surprised that the price on the CJ site is lower than the GCG retail price. Even though CJ would get a discount of some sort, you would hardly expect them to give up so much margin. Maybe the price is out of date? Having said that "I'd go to GCG"...when I did my highflow, I went to Hypergear. I did this https://hypergearturbos.com/product/rb25dethighflow/#tab-dyno-results with the R34 OP6 450HP profile. With the BB centre (extra $400) and intially with the standard boost actuator, but I eventually got him to send me the high pressure one when I got to the point of being able to actually use it. Ends up costing the same sort of money as the GCG highflow, but this is, of course, the turbo that I KNOW has a shorter length core and so moves the comp cover rearwards. The GCG apparently doesn't do that. My mechanic also swears by the GCG highflow, given that we have another turbo rebuilder who does something essentialy the same as theirs, using Garrett wheels. He says it stands up at really low revs and makes good power. I haven't pushed my HG highflow past ~240-250rwkW yet (should have a little more in it, but unclear how much) and it does have a fairly gentle boost ramp. OK, it's much better now that I have gotten my boost controller tuned up on it.  A lot of my earlier unhappiness was because I couldn't keep the wastegate flap as closed as it needed to be (including some mechanical issues). I'd still prefer it to boost up nearly as quickly as the stocker, and it certainly a bit slower than that. So maybe the GCG one is worth the first look (for you).
    • Ok thanks 🙂 I will higly consider this. Any "known" company for a good reviews and experience to send that off? Is that CJ-motor good one? Or go straight to GCG site? I need to use VPN to even find some of those "shops" let alone access them 🙂
    • You can literally put in as much WMI as it takes to quench the combustion totally (and then back it off a little, obviously), and it will keep making more and more power. The power comes from the cooling effect of the water (and the meth) and the extra fuel (the meth, which also has massive octane). It is effectively exactly like running E85. One might be slightly better than the other, but they are damn close. But with either you can lean on the boost or the timing (or both) waaaay more than with just petrol and the results are similar. Here's the first thing I googled for an anecdotal bit of evidence. Can't access the attachment without being a gold member, but it is there for the getting if able to, or searched up elsewise perhaps. https://www.hpacademy.com/forum/general-tuning-discussion/show/wmi-vs-e85/
