yeah sorry my car aint making it this year, the engine is still not sealed so we are way out of time. will be sealed next week and in the car the weekend after but even then there is a whole heap to tidy up.

all the best, i hope its a great success because I want to give it a run next year ;)

Thanks Duncan. It shaping up for a great weekend.

My MR2 is in pieces and will not be ready till later this year so Im leasing a drive for the race.

We are planning a 300km race for Eastern Creek next year so you wont have to wait till November for a 300km enduro. We were also looking at Winton but its very hard to organise as the track is already booked out for next year.

Good luck with the build up and hope to see it on the track soon.

Cheers

Steve

could be a winner. I have a full set of brembos in the garage. with new project mu race pads and rotors too.... now all we need is the car. luckily it cheaper than the brembos!

Yes leasing is a great option.

Im looking into a future racer for the weekend.

Its $4000 for the weekend for the car,pit crew and team manager.

With 3 drivers it works out OK.

Even with two its ok based on the fact you arrive and drive. No set ups, endless hours prepping the car, towing it to the track, pit crew plus plenty more.

I show up, jump in a car with a pit crew ready including team manager and go racing.

Anyone seriously interested in joining in??

  • 3 weeks later...

The Wakefield 300 turned out to be a great race.

I managed some footage which is available on my youtube site. The link is http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=CViGljv2H1k

It would have been great to see a gtr, silvia, subaru, evo and mr2 battling it out with the top teams over the weekend

MAybe next year..

We will have a dedicated site up and runnig inthe near future for those interested in being involved at any level in Australia's only 300km enduro for everyone

cheers

Steve

Will Duncan. The site will be up and running in a few weeks. No excuses for next year. It will be great to see GTR,RX7,MR2,WRX,EVO battling it out for honours next year!!

Did you watch the clip I have on youtube?

skylines are not eligible for bathurst 12 hours or the national production car series - the car has to be within 5 years from new and sold in Aus (unless its a holden in which case the rules will be changed for it).

skylines are welcome in the NSW state production car series though

I was referring to the camry comment, not the GTR.

I well aware of what can and cannot run at Bathurst 12hr/Production car series. You can run R33/R34 skylines in Production Sports. I had a conversation with the president of Production sports a few years ago when I was toying with the idea of building one for racing. Instead of the R33 Im building a MR2 turbo atm to run in Production Sports which will be an experience.I dont expect to all that competitive but gives a me a chance to run with a great class of cars and have some fun. Its also aimed at the W300 for next year.

I heard a rumour there may be a 300km race at EC on the same format as the W300 for next year. If I hear more on it I will let you know.

Cheers

    • Hi GTSBoy, Excuse my ignorance but what does a "Bad" Knee point mean ?
    • HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.
    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.
    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
