Well didn't some of us have some fun last Sunday. 2 Skylines,,,both R32's one a gts-t and the other a gtr.

The gts-t boys (Dad & Son)just simply drove the wheels off the car all day!!!.

The absolute lunatic in the gtr had me laughing and clapping all day with his fanbloodytastic burn outs and launchs.

Michele and I had a great running battle all day,,,sucked in girl I won because I know the rules better than you and I got lucky,,,. I have to admit your car is faster than mine though.

Dirtgarage you really need to get your head around some of this stuff and stop posting comments of what you haven't actually ever done.

Love as always

Neil.

sucked in yourself, I have the printout which says I did a faster time than you :P and that was with them slowing me down 60m before the finishing line.

You haven't got an official printout that is faster than mine :D:banana::banana: even if it didn't count cos they gave me a rerun for slowing me down at least I know I gotcha

tell ya wot... I'll scan up my fastest time and you can scan up yours :P

Its a damn fast hillclimb though, I wouldn't like to lose it through there at those speeds. Don't think I've ever been in 4th gear for a hillclimb before LOL

oh and a certain open wheeler won Shannons Insurance "Car of the Day" in Saturdays Show'n'Shine woohooooo :P:D

I really didn't expect a racecar to get that trophy, there were some impressive looking cars there on Saturday.

oh and a certain open wheeler won Shannons Insurance "Car of the Day" in Saturdays Show'n'Shine woohooooo :P:D

maybe it was rigged?

LOL

nah j/k

Well done guys!!!

If its on next year I'll be there

Michele scan away sweety,,,but you can't use the one that caused your re-run. Your re-run makes it null and void. Got ya on a technicality.

It would have been a fantastic time though if they didn't pull you up!!!.

Ah yes forgot to congratulate you on the show and shine win,,,well done. I told you they would love your car,,,It is very pretty and the fact it's black, low and runs massive big slicks makes it a crowd pleaser.

I was very releived to see Stephen was okay after that shunt,,,he is such a nice guy. After talking to him it seems the rear spoilers mount failed.

Evil you really need to get sunday's off

Baron you don't need balls ,,,shit I only got little ones and Michele hasn't even got a bag to put them in. I never drive ten tenths I just drive with what little brains I have.

Neil.

Jess we had a ball. Michele is a crack up,,,you have to have your witts about you or she'll take the piss outa ya all day. Her 36.51 actually doesn't count but given that backoff at the finish line you could just about give her a low 35 maybe even a high 34.

My times were:-

1/ 39.139 @125 kays

2/ 38.008 @ 136 kays

3/ 37.225 @ 142 kays

4/ 36.621 @ 145 kays

Neil.

Nice times guys!!

You two are funny picking on one another! missed out by .2 :laughing-smiley-014:

I am spewn I missed it, would of loved to try it but staying focus on Dutton Rally in Nov at the moment

Will have to give it ago next year..I do love the hillclimbs

oh, and why didn't the quick time count? did they find you had used ferarri technical data? or had a 'fuel cooler' that could hold 2 litres of fuel? lol. and why did you have to brake 60m before the finish?

Dirtgarage you really need to get your head around some of this stuff and stop posting comments of what you haven't actually ever done.

Smartass as always

Neil

might get to one of these events one day...if i had a racecar...to busy building engines and working on other peoples cars to get my own back on the road. I need to be a little more selfish and look after myself for a change instead of making others my priority.

Couldnt even get up over there to spectate as my daughter flew to Japan on Sunday so had a busy weekend with her.

lol

Hey Neil, how did the skylines go? What sort of times did they get?

Jess,,,focus girl,,,do your self proud and keep us posted of course.

Chris,,,don't know mate no times are anywhere on the net that I can find. I should ring them!!!

Beer boy,,,If you get a re-run for whatever reason the time you posted for the re-run doesn't count. Normally it doesn't matter but Michele was on a flyer and actually posted a great time and god only knows what time she would have actually done.

The reason Michele had to brake was crap because of a stupid offical that thought it was dangerous. There was this mad XY Falcon (Supercharged/Methed/Tubbed) broken down at the time ticket guy ,,,he was past any danger spot,,,I went out in front of Michele and nobody waved their hands at me. I pulled up at the time slip guy and he simply waved me around the dead old piece of crap.

Dirtgarage,,,mate you don't need a race car,,,be selfish and come and have some fun. I'm like you and love winning but at the end of the day if I pull my helmet off and I am smiling thats all that matters.

Neil.

Results are here

It was fun taking the p!ss outta Neil... the look on his face is PRICELESS!!! But don't worry, he dished some of his own back (and I wouldn't have it any other way, I enjoy the banter).

psst Neil --->>>> post-28428-1222246551_thumb.jpg and the weekend before ---->>>> post-28428-1222246586_thumb.jpg

    • Yup. You can get creative and make a sort of "bracket" with cable ties. Put 2 around the sender with a third passing underneath them strapped down against the sender. Then that third one is able to be passed through some hole at right angles to the orientation of the sender. Or some variation on the theme. Yes.... ummm, with caveats? I mean, the sender is BSP and you would likely have AN stuff on the hose, so yes, there would be the adapter you mention. But the block end will either be 1/8 NPT if that thread is still OK in there, or you can drill and tap it out to 1/4 BSP or NPT and use appropriate adapter there. As it stands, your mention of 1/8 BSPT male seems... wrong for the 1/8 NPT female it has to go into. The hose will be better, because even with the bush, the mass of the sender will be "hanging" off a hard threaded connection and will add some stress/strain to that. It might fail in the future. The hose eliminates almost all such risk - but adds in several more threaded connections to leak from! It really should be tapered, but it looks very long in that photo with no taper visible. If you have it in hand you should be able to see if it tapered or not. There technically is no possibility of a mechanical seal with a parallel male in a parallel female, so it is hard to believe that it is parallel male, but weirder things have happened. Maybe it's meant to seat on some surface when screwed in on the original installation? Anyway, at that thread size, parallel in parallel, with tape and goop, will seal just fine.
    • How do you propose I cable tie this: To something securely? Is it really just a case of finding a couple of holes and ziptying it there so it never goes flying or starts dangling around, more or less? Then run a 1/8 BSP Female to [hose adapter of choice?/AN?] and then the opposing fitting at the bush-into-oil-block end? being the hose-into-realistically likely a 1/8 BSPT male) Is this going to provide any real benefit over using a stainless/steel 1/4 to 1/8 BSPT reducing bush? I am making the assumption the OEM sender is BSPT not BSPP/BSP
    • I fashioned a ramp out of a couple of pieces of 140x35 lumber, to get the bumper up slightly, and then one of these is what I use
    • I wouldn't worry about dissimilar metal corrosion, should you just buy/make a steel replacement. There will be thread tape and sealant compound between the metals. The few little spots where they touch each other will be deep inside the joint, unable to get wet. And the alloy block is much much larger than a small steel fitting, so there is plenty of "sacrificial" capacity there. Any bush you put in there will be dissimilar anyway. Either steel or brass. Maybe stainless. All of them are different to the other parts in the chain. But what I said above still applies.
    • You are all good then, I didn't realise the port was in a part you can (have!) remove. Just pull the broken part out, clean it and the threads should be fine. Yes, the whole point about remote mounting is it takes almost all of the vibration out via the flexible hose. You just need a convenient chassis point and a cable tie or 3.
