I reckon most people here would wish you the best of luck in finding a cheap R33 'gem'. We all like a success story around here, if the comments seem a little negative then it's only because we don't want you getting stung.

good luck mate.

Personally I reckon you'd be doing well to find a manual 95 or newer under $18,500 that was worth paying money for.

even if you import them through a broker you wont do much better than that. just remember - there's about a three thousand dollar premium on the manual box.

so for a 93 - you might find one for $17 ?

btw - I had a listen to Rev210s car the other night, and it sounded pretty healthy. that flywheel makes it so much more free-revving!

yeh dude 17grand is cheap for a good skyline maybe u should save a little more and then get a nice one, u'll be really pushing it to find one for that money. and of course u'd be offended if your selling your car for 19 and someone tries to get it for 16 - wheres the logic?

Your Silvia was a complete loss because it's auto, N/A, what did u expect? ..if you're after a decent 33 with a straight body, no panel damage, immaculate interior and a well kept engine, you won't be paying budget prices. There is a shortage of good ones around. $25k+

Personally I doubt most private sales will get anywhere near their original asking prices. People are shying away from the import market due to insurance and finance hassles, this is bad for sellers.

People want imports, but sometimes, the hassles involved do not justify paying big $$$ for.

Silvia1992, keep looking dude, when you have one you like, take it to a workshop that works on these cars day-in-day-out and get them to test it. RAC are useless. Best of luck!

I'm about to buy a 1994 R33 GTS25 (Non-Turbo) for $13,000. Its very stock, no mods wats so ever, just a JVC stacker. And done about 90,000km with new tyres with the stock rims. Its got all the usual features, air con, HICAS etc, but no ABS. How is this for value? Wat do u guyz think, any advise would b appreciated.

Thanx...:P

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.

    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
