Just a quick update Finally got some dyno time and got on top of some little issues with the car.

I was having some boost controll issues that were holding me back in getting the tuning done.

I originaly had the motec running the factory boost solinoid wich turned out not to be up to the job. Borrowed a boost controller of a mate that and thougt that would have sorted the problem but the solinoid in that boost controller ended up being stuffed as well.So put the good old trusty bleed valve on the car temporarily and problem solved.

Ended up getting a preliminary tune up in the car the map is still a little bit fat and still need to trim the maps up a little but will get this done once the new boost controller goes in the car as no doubt the the boost curve will change once this is fitted so will need to fine tune everything to get the best out of it.

We got the boost up to around 20/21 psi with a safe tune in it the car is making 557.9 all wheel HP at 7100RPM. The RPM limit will be around 8500/8800 RPM. we didn't push it any further on the dyno as the car was starting to squirm around on the rollers a little but as can be seen on the dyno sheet the power was still climbing so I would estimate that it is probably in the vicinity of 580/590 all wheel HP at max RPM.

Will hopefully get the new EBC fitted and get it back on the dyno towards the end of the week or over the weekend and get a bit more boost into it as the HKS turbos only seem to really come alive and get into their eficiency range at around the 25psi mark going from previous experiance with these turbos. so hopefully will get some slightly better results once this is all sorted and the maps have been cleaned up.

So glad to finally be seeing some light at the end of the tunnel :) . Will have another update with a few pics of some nice new suspension parts in the next day or so as well.

F'N awsome Darren! Mat might get the idea to run some boost now.

Yea mate matty is a bit ghey thou I will be in his ear to wind the wick up a bit. That way when his tuner blows the engine in the car up i'll get another engine buld LOL. I have started on his new engine so now I am getting somewhere with my car I will get stuck into finnishing it off for him.

Thanks for the comments guys I am looking forward to finnally getting a few laps in the car.

When are you going to be back up this way Richard will hopefully get a track day organized next time so yourself Mark, Russ, Myself and a few other tuff GTR's can all have a bit of fun.

Strik3r I will hopefully be getting to the track next tuesday for a shakedown will be taking it easy though just to make sure everthing is all good.

Strik3r do come and say g'day mate I think i saw your car but didn't get a chanvce to chat with you at not the last track day but the one before that. I was driving the grey R32GTR rego 26R32. Will look forward to having a chat.

Nice to here mate give me a bit of notice to check out available track days. Morgan Park would be a bit of fun!.

Just a few pics of the RUZIC engineering EM PRO2 installed and some nice new suspension bits. Looking forward to giving it a bit of a shake down on tuesday will be taking it nice and easy though just want to make sure everthing is all good and keep the standard gearbox alive untill my carbon shaft arrives and i can stick the Getrag box in.

Thanks mate come and say hi. Will only be taking it easy just a shake down but should be fun anyway.

Yeah will do, i bought a rb26 inlet setup from you about 18 months ago. I will be taking it pretty easy myself having only done one track day before and ive changed a fair bit since then so ill have to feel it out a bit

how good are the ikeya front LCAs dazzmo? they are THE front LCAs to get. a much better design over others that just mirror the factory ones. and how farken huge are the castor rods. they never look big in pics but in your hand they are about 1.5 times the diameter of most aftermarket ones, and the way they mount into the LCA is so much better. you'll love them. :P

Hey Richard the ikea stuff is definatley the go well worth the extra coin and as you said the lca castor rod combo is definatley the best on the market. Have fitted all the arms now and what a difference they make a bit harsh on a average road but awsome on the smooth stuff and turn is is a massive improvement. Lucky for me I got a good deal on all the suspension gear as it is generally pretty exy but one of the best bang for buck mods you can get for a track car as far as lap times go.

Will be good to catch up again for a chat tommorow Paul just hoping we get a dry line on the track even better if the rain clears up for us but it is not looking like it. At least for me I am just treating it as a test session as I wont be trying to set a lap time or anything. Will only have 7000rpm to play with as am trying to sort out a ref sync issue with the ecu at higher rpm.

Angus I am putting a Getrag 6 speed in the car just standard gear set as this should be more than up to the job. Just waiting on a carbon tail shaft to turn up (not an ACPT after the debacle from the last group buy) I have sorced it from another company in the states. Nearly all the tuff R34GTR's in japan either run a stnd Getrag or a Holinger so should be able to handle the power without any problem.

Nice! i have a 34 Getrag in my 32 and i love it!! you wont be disappointed i somehow scored a nismo imput shaft with mine (tho finding a clutch was a pain) i'm going for fairly big power when i get it back on the road, 450kwatw + i hope. i herd that the weak link is the synchro's, which i've gotten in contact with someone in the States for aftermarket synchro's, if i was to ever go down that route. (obviously you know its the same box for the supra)

I still have my acpt shaft here.. hopefully it fits when the time comes! what a shit fight that was to organize...

cant wait to get it all together d day is approaching!! thanks for keeping me inspired!!

    • As far as I can tell I have everything properly set in the Haltech software for engine size, injector data, all sensors seem to be reporting proper numbers.  If I change any injector details it doesnt run right.    Changing the base map is having the biggest change in response, im not sure how people are saying it doesnt really matter.  I'm guessing under normal conditions the ECU is able to self adjust and keep everything smooth.   Right now my best performance is happening by lowering the base map just enough to where the ECU us doing short term cut of about 45% to reach the target Lambda of 14.7.  That way when I start putting load on it still has high enough fuel map to not be so lean.  After 2500 rpm I raised the base map to what would be really rich at no load, but still helps with the lean spots on load.  I figure I don't have much reason to be above 2500rpm with no load.  When watching other videos it seems their target is reached much faster than mine.  Mine takes forever to adjust and reach the target. My next few days will be spent making sure timing is good, it was running fine before doing the ECU and DBW swap, but want to verify.  I'll also probably swap in the new injectors I bought as well as a walbro 255 pump.
    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
    • In my head it does make sense to be a fuel problem since that is what I touched when cleaning the system. When I was testing with the fuel pressure gauge, the pressure was constantly 2.5 bar with the FPR vacuum removed. When stalling, the pressure was going up to 3.0 bar (which is how it should be on ignition).
    • ECUtalk pages don't mention they support the ABS computer (consult port has more than one CAN), so you might just need a different scan tool. But, I would expect ABS is a different light to the brake warning/handbrake light, do you see an ABS light come on for a few seconds when you turn the key from ACC to IGN? But since you said: I'd have a look at the ABS sensors in the rear hubs to make sure they are not damaged, disconnected etc.
