What would be a rough price for a R34 GTT coupe. I have found several for $14000 all from the same person on carpoint.com.au. However all the other GTTs are almost $20000. Does anyone know anything about http://www.carpoint.com.au/used-car/NISSAN....aspx?State=VIC. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hiya,

There's a big quality variation between car to car; or any car for that matter once it's over 2 years old. And hey, we're talking about a car that's 9 years old?

On the surface, we don't know from the $ price about matters like...

i) damage repair and how it's been done

ii) rust

iii) service history & logs

iv) treatment by the driver & no. of owners

v) engine INSIDE and out

vi) running gear

vii) body

I nearly bought an N13 as a daily based on all of the above, and when I opened the door to start it.... PHEW! THE SMELL! DOG POOP!

I kid you not! I did pharmacy; and no-one ever told me at Uni that a bad smell could bring tears to your eyes - but it did! Now where's the connection there?

Back to your Q.

Market value on an R34 as 'Iron Chef' said on a different thread is going to develop a broader spectrum/window of $ value as the car gets older and owners take care of their cars differently (even though he was talking about GTRs). Perhaps I'd start from the average of $17,000 and work up.

Tell us what that cheap one was like eh?

Cheers, T

Hey Glenn, Nice bit of tarmac there where you live to stretch your 'new' GTT eh? Watch out for unmarked P. cars!

thanks for your replies guys. I'm going to check it out this weekend. The guy i was talking to said he had 5 of these skylines. It does sound to good to be true. Will update you all on the weekend with what i find out.

Yeah we do have some nice stretches of road down here. Not much police presence at the moment though mostly in town fighting with the drunks.

Be careful, mate.

As others said, this is way too cheap.

If this was legit, all he'd have to do is take this car to any dealer and we'd snap it up for $14k in an instant. Why would he waste his time on carpoint.com.au?

Only thing I can think of is he's probably selling it uncomplied, so it'll be locked in to a workshop that either he or his mate owns, and they'll charge you a fair bit of change to comply it which is how they'll make their profit. Totally speculation so please let me know if it's got a compliance plate on there and I'll eat my words, gladly as well.

Give him a call to ask if it's complied already to avoid wasting your time.

Just to give you a comparison, I imported my 34 and all up to have it on the road it cost me just under $23k, which I thought was a pretty good price, mine was stock with 80k km and in great condition.

So as has been said, be careful, suss it out, it could be hot, dodgy, or as carizma said, could be un complied.

Ok guys i went and had a look at it. It is uncomplied, but other than that i took it out for a bit of a spin and it was fine. The ride was a bit rough but I expected that with the type of suspension that is in it.

So anyway they said they would accept $16,000 for it including it be complied and registered

Well it is a bit rough but it is in excellent condition. Plus I'm goin to go back soon and take it to a mechanic and get them to check it out but when I took it for a drive it felt really good, no weird sounds or anything. Plus i will be doing it up so it's a nice base to start with.

same price as you said. The stock silver one is not bad, but dont have the coilover suspension. The other one is misfiring, probably is the spark plug or the coilpack. But the seller said will fix every things up if you buy it.

I really want the blue one and i know it will sold quick, i was planed to go see the car on saturday afternoon but my mechanic was not free to come with me on saturday. So i missed the blue one..

    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
