Well, this is my first post on www.skylinesaustralia.com I shall take this opportunity to warmly greet everyone and i look forward to many more posts. This is basically my story, briefly. I am 19 years old, and ever since i was a little kid i have been greatly interested in Japanese Luxury and Sports cars. My first car was a Mettalic green 1983 Datsun/Nissan Skyline R30 Sedan, with the L24E engine and a 3 speed auto. I got it early last year for a measly $950, with less than 170,000 kms on the clock. It was in overall good nick, but rust was BADLY eating into its front right panel in front of the door. I used it for delivering pizzas and its fuel consumption of 16.5-18.0l/100 (im not joking, i know it was only a 2.4 and i didnt thrash it all the time) was a bit shocking to say the least. I sold it after about 4-5 months for a measly $550..Before you flame me and smack me in the mouth over the internet, i was in a pretty bad financial situation, the Skyline HAD to go..because, i had purchased a 1989 Ford Falcon S for (it seemed low) $1000 and i was afraid i would get defected becasue of my poor Dattos chassis rust problems. The Falcon was a bit of a pig, it had assloads of low end toruqe that kind of got me hooked on Performance fords..I got a 1990 model mint condition Fairmont Ghia for my 18th birthday for myself, after selling the Falcon for a small profit. After just over a year of owning the Ghia, i am now well and truly bored of it, and i have purchased a 1998 Toyota Starlet for delivering Pizzas in, in these times of high fuel prices..and then it dawned on me..I WANT MY DATSUN BACK!! I still see it driving around sometimes, here in the Lower North Eastern Adelaide area, by the same guy who i sold it to, Damien i think his name was. If your on these forums mate, message me, i want to buy my car back from you!! As for anyone else, what advice do you have to give to a crazy bugger that wants to buy an R30 again? Are they too old? Any mechanical problems i should be aware of? Are they an under-appreciated modern classic? My budget is a bit limied right now so i wont be buying R34 GT-Rs anytime soon so throw me a bone here. Am i still worthy to be a Skyline enthusiast?

They Certainly seem to dont they..mine was a "grandpa spec" that belonged to the dealers father who passed alway and was 80 something. I havent seen a sinlge one for sale in Adelaide since i got mine tough so my hopes arent too high at the moment. I wouldnt mind a nice Ti with all the Luxury goodies and the nice plush seats. I currently Drive a 1990 Fairmont Ghia so im used to Luxury motoring.

First thing.....The only performance ford is an XR6t apart from that well...............No such thing is there????

I agree with whats been said, keep your eyes out they'll pop up when you least expect them to...It took me ages to find my DR but i found it...Just gotta keep looking and don't buy the first thing you see!

    • Yeah I also looked at Plazmaman, but, it ended up alot  cheaper getting black ones through EFI when you also added in the delivery cost
    • Nice shot! They look super clean. The roof rack delete on the black one is interesting. Would like to see more pictures from different angles. It's subtle but could make quite a difference to how the car looks in profile.
