Not trying to hijack this thread, but if you floor it and the wheels start spinning in 2nd and 3rd, it means the clutch is spinning and it's on it's way out?!! My mate thought it was because he had "so much power" :)
well if your clutch is slipping, you shouldnt get increased wheelspin :P

Not directed at you Johnny, but it might be easier to understand if you referred to it as clutch slip not wheel spin. :)

oh okay damo, miss understanding :) ! well at first i thought shit i just span 2nd, then 3rd, thena minor spin in 4th! im awesome! then i was like, hmm, i actuall didnt spin the wheels and i wasnt going anywhere, then the smell of warm brakes(clutch) gave it away! im pretty much 99.99%its clutch! might have a sus at all brake and clutch i think they are just to confirm it! might look at them to install it but i still need to find a supplier for the chosen prefer exedy 6puk extra heavy duty cushion button clutch! thus meaning the clutch has an "either its on, or off point" so to speak!

i have almost the same mods as you mate, i put an extreme in mine but i myself dont really like it much, its not all that meaty and sometimes slips or bogs down if you try some 'harder' styles of driving with it... but i was kinda expecting that for the price.. i couldnt afford anything better at the time! its not too bad though!

lol i remember when my clutch went, i got awesome fuel economy for a while there, i could barely rev it from 3rd-5th gear without is slipping!! made my car seem like a rocket ship once i got a new clutch!!

mine started slipping @ 215 rwkw,

but now @ 230-40 rwkw, i get no slippage......

exept when i try and launch, slips like a mofo!

its only a standard item too, its held up pretty well imo, specially

with my love of 2nd and 3rd gear and hatred of traction lol

I run an Exedy GTR 4puk solid button. - NSK-7121SC

Picked it up for a fairly decent price. :P

Smooth to drive with and not to heavy on the leg. No issues grabbing fourth hard and having the rear chirp or twitch around a little.

I ran a Extreme 9puk prior. Heavier on the leg, would tend to heat up really easily and then slip with only 200rwkw and it shuddered like a bastard.

The Exedy 4puk Handles 300rwkw without a problem. But whats important is the torque it handles. 200rwkw at 3500rpm and 256rwkw at 4000rpm without problems.

mine was the opposite lol,

200kw and no dramas, but then 250kw and slips anytime it hits full boost in any gear :P

it work fine off boost, but no fun

lol, i know where your comin from mate...

sometimes when i clutch 2nd it slips bad, but other times its fine :P

oh well, hust have to see if steve organises another group buy, if not, ill start looking round myself.

If ya do Steve, could you get me a price on a twin plate, as i will need to upgrade in the future :D

I got a Nismo Twin Plate Coppermix in mine from Luke ENR34.......softer pedal than the original clutch, but heaps of bite :D

Speak to him about prices though.........constant change due to the Aussie $

JUST rang extreme up,

they are offering a

Extreme 6-puk extra heavy-duty button

Lightweight billet flywheel

$ 1050 + labour

Total

$ 1300

Called: David

8300 5000

Warranty: 12months, 20000kms

what are your thoughts, i hear good and bad stories about extreme, and to go to exedy!???????

probably wont need an extra heavy duty until 250kw at the wheels id think johnny, and id go 4puk, bit easier to drive and will save you a bit of cash for other mods, or for a flywheel.

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
