I think the rumours spark from this article...

attachment.php?postid=253771

In it, they go on about how the new "S16" Silvia will use the SR20VET from the X-Trail 2.0GT, with 280ps, and the XVL chassis.

They say it probably won`t be called the "S16", but the "V16" coz of the new chassis. This article came out mid-last year or so, and that pic is just the magazines guesstimations.

Its all heresay and conjecture.. there is no real S16 in design yet.. might be a few years before they come out too, if they do bother.

Japanese market is changing a fair amount in the types of cars they're producing.

no.. it wouldnt be an s13 with out an rb in it

or a skyline without a VQ35 .. :)

Good point, but doesn't matter Nissan have used the same lettering but different numbers for different models before and I'm not talking about the same platform...like the Serena C24 and the Stagea C34. In case of same numbers WG C34 Stagea and GC C34 Laurel.

Another rumour had it's links looking similar to the next Sentra SE-R...so which would you prefer...a Q16 :P...

I've given up on guessing likewise for the next GT-R...best to wait and see.

edit: FYI...the above attachment is also very old photochop of a P12 Primera minus 2 doors, lowered and widened.

SR20VET??? doesn't quite fit in right with Nissan's engine code scheme...unless theiy're dumping the DOHC and replacing it with something V which I have no idea of.

oh scrap that V is for the Neo VVL (variable valve lift)...

check this to read engine codes (Nissan) http://www.freshalloy.com/site/features/te...ome_codes.shtml

    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
