I had to come and have a read of this thread as John keeps going on and on and on and on and on and on x 1 billion about this R35..

Nice photo Martin too. I like the silver one. ... black one comes in at close 2nd.

It's a shame the R35 doesn't come in blue though isn't it?

ZOMG - Miss Cheeky - actually posting on SAU :)

Like I have said to John on a number of occasions it is a whole $5k to do a show quality paint job on a brand new car. And rather than detract from resale value, I think it would actually enhance value to have a Bayside Blue one! As I keep saying to John dddddddddddddddddddooooooooooooooooooooooooo iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitttttttttttttttttttttttttttt :P

hahaha Chicks dont know a good car from a barina sportsgirl :)

i often see you on greenhill rd on your way to work next time i see you ill throw a wave out to you one you cant miss :(:)

Yes, John's R33 is a one of a kind.

Its performance, sound and smell (mmmm, petrol) leave a memorable expirience for anyone who gets to be driven in it by John.

It has taken a lot of work (and 4 or 5 engines; I lost the count) to come to this impressive set up.

We are all trying to talk John out of selling the car.

Does it use a simular 4wd system to attessa or did it change when they introduced the transaxel?

See....its already attracting the chicks!

As for the R35 disease Erica, I have bad news for you, its only going to get worse in the Munro household as true R35 fever sets in :D

The E85 conversion on his Silver 33 today might keep him quiet for a bit, but it doesnt cure the illness :P

Ooh, alcohol burning... no drinking the fuel John!

I'll be interested to see the results of this one Martin, post a thread if you get the time or inclination.

If the options are limited to, John keeping his R33, or selling it to help with the purchase of a new-ish R35 - I reckon that old R33 wasn't a bad car and hopefully the new owner makes the most of it :D

So .... what sort of figure did you get Martin? Around 350rwkw I hope. Care to post a dyno sheet? :)

If the car/you/Keir are about tomorrow afternoon I might have to come down and go for a spin - work is looking a bit slow so I might have the time

Yeh i think i need to upgrade the injectors from 700cc to 1200cc and that its

2x044's is enough and its got the big sx reg. Aslong as theres enough fuel for

550rwkw i will be happy(it made on the last street tune 470rwkw on pump and raced with 450ish before)

cheers

darren

Haven't seen you for a while, Daz. Good to hear the new set-up is coming along. 500-550rwkw on E85 should be very tidy work! I might have to look into E85 for mine - not quite in the same ball park as John and yourself though! I'll be happy with 320rwkw.

I think the R35 still takes the cake as a total package though :P

    • Well, my new WMI system took much longer to finalize. I actually missed my dyno appointment last Friday and lost my 150$ deposit. I'll be going back in the next week or two.  To sum it up. I only kept the AEM tank from my old setup. I replaced the AEM pump with a higher flow/pressure ProMeth 30GPH pump. I also swapped over to a 6AN low pressure feed line to the pump from the tank. There's also a pressure switch you cannot see on the pump high pressure line.    This is feeding 6x 200CC direct port nozzles and 1x 500CC Pre Throttle body nozzle. All fittings are Swagelok, because well why not. I also have a 300PSI pressure sensor up front.    I now have my Haltech ECU controlling everything. I start my pump with a basic relay at 5PSI and deadhead it. I then PWM a 3000CC methanol Injector to control flow starting around 10psi. The pressure switch in the trunk, along with my tank level are safeties before I ever get to 10PSI, and then I use my pressure sensor upfront as a secondary safety to cut the WMI and corrections in case the injector blocks or a line ruptures.  Wish me luck on the dyno!
    • So, I'm back with bad news. There's no jack long enough on this planet that will reach the front subframe. If by some chance there is, it would weigh 200lb's.  I purchased a long reach jack... The damn thing weighted 120lb's and was massive. Didn't even come close, was still short at least a foot. It was a pain, but I brought it back. Next I decided HA! No problem, I'll get an Extra long reach jack. Well, I couldn't lift the box... It must have weighed 160LB's and luckily there was an open box in store. I took measurement and was still nowhere close.  Sadly I've lost hope and have accepted defeat.
    • Thanks for that tip, niZmO_Man. I think the battery is OK. It's quite a new one, but I'll check. Last time I needed a new battery, everything electronic was fine, except that there wasn't enough current to turn over the starter. I decided to order one of the partial AV system translation CDs from Car Audio Workshop in NZ. That might have some effect, or help me diagnose the date problem. 🤞
    • I suppose it was relatively stock too, the JZ motor handle most mods thrown at them without even breaking a sweat
    • I saw your intro update, are you sure you've actually had a starter motor failure? You mention it could be the alarm causing it. I'm assuming you've got a no start issue, but what are the exact symptoms, as there could be a few reasons it has stopped wanting to start.
