Yeah what a great event! cheap, easy on the car, well run and a real challenge. i've seen the large freak's photos, hoping someone caught me when i had the fuel spraying out the filler neck (gotta remember to put those things back on!) are pics going in this forum or a different spot? thebuzz, i was meaning to come over and say hi, how's your datto going?

Great pics mate, thanks for posting them up.

Lagwagon, haven't done much with the Datsun lately, been doing heaps with the GT-R instead, haven't driven it for a few months... Might try and give it a run in the evening sometime soon now that daylight savings is here. Would have been a bit of fun out there yesterday hehe

What a top day.....best $75 I've spent in a while :)

Well where do I start.....a big thank you to the organizers and volunteers of the event as it was very well run. There was a fair wait in between runs but that was a reflection of the quantity of cars rather than the runnings of the day as there were 70odd cars there.

It was my first time at the new morwell hillclimb and I must say that it looked a little daunting from the carpark...tight, technical in parts and huge elevation changes. I had heard the stories of cars having stacks on it and when I was introduced to 'oh sh1t' corner it all made sense and the tyre scars on the grass confirmed the stories :0 Despite this and the fact that something like an evo or well sorted wrx has the upper hand here the track proved to be a great place to hussle a GTR around :)

I started off taking it fairly easy with a first run of 1:04something but I was able to knock time off every pass with my last run resulting in a best of 58.50. Here are a couple of incar vids:

This is my 1:00.07 pass with a good drift moment 2 corners after 'oh sh1t':

1:00.07

This is my next pass at 59.51:

59.51

and the last one I captured (vid battery died for my run after this) with a little off track excursion ;) which resulted in a 58.68:

58.68

I did a 58.50 in my last run without the little off track excursion but I do feel that there is more time to be found esp if you have adjustable suspn.

Also thanks to Ryan (Belsil80) without our little battle in the arvo I doubt we would've pushed ourselves to get the times we did (check the results to see how close we were pass after pass) but you should've known that the GTR would neva loose in the end :(

Good pics so far big bird but I want to see some sideways action ;)

agh I had to pull out due to illness, then proceeded to cut my hand open washing dishes yesterday needing 5 stitches... what a weekend

ah well there is always next year, good work on the times Ryan and Ant, very impressed

the pics are making me depressed, looks like a beautiful day/track for some fanging

It was a great day, though I'm absolutely fried... first day in the sun has taken it's toll!

Great track though, can't wait to get the 180 out onto it. Will definately give me more confidence knowing I don't have to drive it to work on Monday :P

Top shots as well Jarrod, nice one.

Nick: Nasty weekend for you mate!

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
