Far out thats some badluck there bud!

and lol @ the MR2 incident... that would be funny as hell watching the officer's face open the front bonnet  hmmmm no engine aye running on your hopes and dreams... DEFECT!

Lol's

he was not happy when i was trying to tell him

and hes like DONT GIVE ME EXCUSSES ! JUST OPEN THE BONNET!

I swear you could hear crickets in the background when he looked at my emergency spare a score magazine (features a more solid lady) and a roll of co axial cable in the bonnet hood whatever it is...

wasent any better when i popped the back open he looked even more confused with what he saw there lol! i was almost dying of the black laugh

man now im freaking out, why are the cops in this town so bad? makes me wanna move to QLD or somewhere where the cops have better things to do.

bald tires, hmmmm agree with that but not the nonstop hassle in this town.

hope the car show drive up doesnt turn into defect frenzy

Damo I don't think there is such a thing as a good defect experience?

Unless your car has some massive engine conversion with a high mount turbo that's so huge and high mounted that you had to cut a hole in your bonnet to make it fit and you have 2 giant NOS tanks sitting in the passenger seat and you look like Vin Diesel... But the cop fails to notice all that and you only get a cop shop defect for bald tyres?

Oh but there was that one where the cop came back to the guys house and removed the defect because the cop got the defect wrong (he quoted the wrong ride height).

How was your gauges mounted? Was it the pillar cos i was under the impression they were made legal recently....

yeh the boost gauge was on the pillar.. the cop was just giving me a hard time the kent..

hmmmm better ditch my boost gauge single pod even if it was installed by dealer when i bought the car...lol.. i was sitting next to cops yesterday and they looked my car up and down at light including boost gauge but drove off. not the first time but its going to be a only a matter of time before i get done. dont smoke anyway so i'll move it to the cig lighter area. so when i get my apexi i can hide it behind the ashtray next to it...lol

the best thing is the tv screen that pops out of dash, i hide it when they drive near me...stealth is best..lol

the thing that pissers me off ya get done for a boost gauge mounted on the a piller but ya can stick a bloody gps unit anywhere ya like and there 4 times the size .

dosent make sense to me

Yep it's complete double standards.

But then, look at all the rusty buckets of shit going around, blowing loads of smoke, and the cops don't look twice.

GPS units are removable, though (suction capped)

Let's just put suction caps on boost gauges and stick them to the windscreen and have vaccum hoses running down haha

oh dont forget the really old guys with the ten hats blocking there vision in the back window or the young girls with stuff animals lining the front and back windows.. or the cops with the huge laptop screen blocking there already poor vision....lol

and i bet if you look in every boot on the road you will find something loose in it.. not just sub boxes.. and you can be sure the cops have shit loose too.

its understandable you dont want something to fly and hit you, how about the wankers with 6x9 speakers loose in the back window....lol

or CD's flashing light in your face hanging from a string on the mirror..lol

dont get me started.... sorry...lol

what were the $200 and $150 fines for??

I have been defected 3 times and never got a fine for a defect?

It's discretionary. They can fine you if they want to but sometimes they'll just defect and not give you a fine as well.

Good reason to remain polite and composed even when an arsehole cop is bending you over.

mate that shit dont work cause all they do then is defect you under suspision you think your the first bloke to think of that

no i dont think im the first person to think of it no need to be a dick either i thought you would look to the humorous side to it obviously not  do you think i would even try that jeez

think a little please.

sorry to say this but its his own fault driving on bald tyres and then its just plain bad luck to get pulled over bye another cop well i guess you have to put every thing back to stock and get it over with then re-install the parts again only real way around it.

hope you get it all sorted out it really does sux tho.

Luck? bad luck, good luck...I don't see how luck has anything to do with it, if all the defects were genuine then.....

Rules, you know them, we all know them... you play outside of them and get caught then think it's harsh?

Outlaw or not? you choose.

Luck? nothing to do with it.

That is one nicely presented engine bay Danai. Tough hardware, although very simple looking to a non-enthusiast

i like!

    • Pressure when IDLING, is meant to be 51PSi... So that amperage value needs to go up a fair chunk... I'd personally be factoring for more like 12amp at least on those runs, and at that point you need to hope the already there wiring doesn't drop you a volt or two, as that's a lot of fuel pressure flow drop off from 13.5 to 12V! Taking idle pressure of 51psi, means the pump will be drawing a MINIMUM of 9amps all the time based on your reading of the graph (3bar base, then allowing an extra 0.5bar for boost = roughly 51psi)
    • Hi all,  I am in the market for an R200 longnose diff out of a Z31 300ZX, or S12 RSX, DR30 skyline, or similar, in a 3.9 ratio.  Preferably a late model one with the M12 crownwheel bolts.  The only easy to find advert for one of these was my ad back in 2007 when I sold it on this forum.  I sold the diff as I had sold the car it goes to, but as it turns out, after 18 years I got the car back late last year, so now I'm looking for the diff !  If anyone knows where to find a longnose R200 LSD with the M12 crownwheel bolts, drop me a line at [email protected] - Bonus paid if soomeone comes up with the original diff (stranger things have happened !).  Cheers   Ben D
    • Hi everyone, I used to post here a bit from 2004-2013, when I owned various Nissans, in particular my S12 RSX gazelle, which was sold in 2007.  As luck would have it, after an 18 year hiatus, the car found its way back to me last year, and over the past 11 months I have had the pleasure of restoring it with my kids.  One thing that I am after in particular is a 3.9 ratio R200 LSD for it.  I actually sold the one out of the car here back in 2007 , and it would be incredible if I could track down who I sold it to, so I can see how they have progressed over the years (and to be honest, to see whether I can get the diff back !).  Anyways, hi all and let me know "where are the R200 Longnose diffs all at these days ?  Cheers Ben D
    • Arms will be the same as the G35 or 350Z, but as above, there was a change in the lower control arm where it connects to the ball joint.  That said, you can remove the ball joint cone from your old ball joints and fit them to the new ball joints.  To be honest, I didn't think the ball joints themselves were different. The main ball joint is a bit awkward to replace, you really need to remove the steering knuckle to press out the old one.  Some people have used tools to remove it in place, but it just seemed too hard to get to. If you are going to press out/in that ball joint, then you may as well just replace the bushings in the LCA and the compression rod.  You can buy the compression rod bushing from Nissan, but the LCA bushes, you will need to go aftermarket. Much cheaper than buying the whole arm.
    • Ha, well, it's been.... a bit of a journey. Things have taken much longer than I'd hoped. I'll probably put up a thread at some stage. Hopefully soon. The car's not done any kms since my update in June though, put it that way.
