Hey guys,

as stated I'm after a starter motor to suit my C210 Skyline.

I'm located in Lithgow, NSW, will pay postage but have relatives in the Sydney area to pick up if possible.

Cheers Dan

Have you tried the wreckers ?,

MR30 (L24e), 240K(L24), Older Patrols (L28 ?) would have a starter to fit your car

Not as yet mate, there's only one wrecker in town and he specialises in more modern stuff but I will try him tomorrow just in case.

Hmmm, never knew about the patrols something else to look out for.

Ive got heaps if you get stuck. Postage will be a bit rough though - they aren't light. Even though the r30 ones are physically smaller they bolt straight on.

Thanks man, I'll try and get one closer to home but if I have no luck I'll let you know.

Cheers Dan

Is this correct ? RB30 / L24/26/28 using the same bell housing pattern (gearbox)

Nigel

I think thats right, my manual r30 starter looks exactly the same as an auto rb30 one.

i know that the turbo rb30 one is different, only because it has a bigger flywheel.

A standard manual or auto will have the same starter.

na rb30 startmotor wont fit. i tried using the l24 one on my rb30 box. both manual if makes a difference

same auto box??? engine slant from the l to rb series is opposite. unless ya mean swap bellhousings?

Hey, all good guys

I got one from a wreckers up the mountains that was out of an *R30. Works a treat too but as per usual I fix one thing and something else brakes :(

New starter in, turn the key and no reds (dash lights), no tick from the fuel pump but the motor still winds over like a champion.

Checked the fuse/fusible links, blown fuse for the meter? (designation on fuse box lid) I assume that's the gauge cluster? as well as the fusible link for the ignition has popped too. any ideas?

I think the rat may have chewed through a wire, the tacho wasn't working when everything else was? I hate cars :D

didnt short something out when wiring up the starter motor?

guess just replace all the blown fuses and see what happens. think fuel pump just runs a relay tho no fuse. give the pump a hit as well, sometimes when their on the way out that gets them started

mines fixed too, workmate got one out bush and just put in in, think it may be off a 720 ute...

smaller and the solenoid is on the other side of the top bolt..but, it works .sooo tis all good :spank:

    • Ok I get you. But isn’t the butterfly intake a headache with the +T?  see this is my plan so far but please advise me into the right direction.  Nistune Ecu, 1000cc Bosch injectors, TD05 or TD06 Kinugawa turbo using stock rb25det exhuast manifold, walbro fuel pump unsure of model I think it’s 450/460, spitfire coils and sparks to suit and a R35 MAF sensor and boost sensor.    I was thinking maybe do a cheap eBay plenum $400-500 or try find a stock det neo intake. I think I’d port match it so it’s getting the full capacity but open to advice please.  Thanks
    • The issue now is the 'fuel cut' while driving, and when it happend, it does not stall. This, I did not test the fuel pressure while driving as I cannot with a fuel pressure gauge. I do have Nistune logs, yes. I have also replaced the MAF Sensor.   Also related to the FPG Fuel Hanger – I just realized that I need a Deutsch Crimp Tool to crimp some cables for the FPG Fuel Hanger. Need to purchase additional cables as the kit only included 2, which are for the float. FPG has not responded to my emails so far since purchasing. I thought about taking it to someone and having it done professionally, but I am reluctant since everyone I took it to messed up in some way.
    • There's a good German place in Brisbane if youre up for the drive 😛
    • The German place in Cabramatta was rock solid, fresh pretzel cooked to order back then. Then it went all quiet, after all the poker machines were removed, then I believe it closed for good. I did drive past the other week and noticed outdoor lighting a big screen, but no idea what is there now.
    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
