Damo,

I too have been keeping a record of my fuel consumption over a long period. I started with cat back exhaust and pod and have kept a record of when I did mods, long drives etc.

From memory im getting about 13L/100km in city type driving.

Mods include full exhaust, EBC set all the time at 0.6bar, high flow turbo, BOV, pod, clutch, tuned powerFC, FMIC.

When you post yours up, i'll post it in the same thread for comparison - mine is in excel format.

Mark

i have manual r33, stock boost, cat back exhaust and air pod....

i consistently get 450km with a bit a stick, about 550 driving like a granny...

have tried optimax for a year, just changed to BP ultima, havent noticed much difference yet but still keeping an eye on it..

Whats with the 40L tank?? 250km out of 40L is not all that bad...its not great, but not bad. I regularly get 400-450km out of 60L, where you would be getting ~375km.

The fuel gauge in the R33s is a little deceptive. The empty line does not actually indicate a full quarter. Mine usually does 350km when the needle hits the empty line, then 50km later the fuel light comes on. I can usually drive around for 30-50km with the fuel light on.

if u r concerned about fuel consumption u should drive a none turbo like a celica then u'll get 600 k out of 50 lts or itegra about the same . when u drive turbos u dont worry about fuel , try driving a hot coome then u 'll see how much fuel u use . 25-30 lts per 100 km .

33's and 32's don't all chew heaps of fuel.

Some are spot on the specs as released from the factory i.e 10.5l/100km's for the R32. Mine appears to be pretty spot on as are some others. BUT there are some out there that get simply crap fuel consumption.

Good work MRK25T, Makes mine look pretty simple. How did u give a direct link to the xl file. When i tried to attach the file it said only certain formats are allowed and that was not one of them. Hence I had to zip it.

Ok just got a EL Falcon Oxygen Sensor - Very similar to R33 one. Costs $77.00 at bursons. The original r33 from nissan costs $280 (No Thanks). Got my mechanic to cut the r33 sensor and soldier the el falcon one on.

And guess what. My fuel gauge is barely moving now, i cant believe it ive driven at least 100km and only a very little drop in fuel. Very good consumption now.

So now i reckon ill get 500-600km out of a tank that i used to get 250km out of before. I am still yet to clean my afm so hoping for better consumption.

Oh yeh power is that same as before. Hope this help guys. And if you get crap consumption go and get it changed.

Cheers

AK

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
