hey guys

as of today i am a proud owner of a black skyline r33 GTST and it has a few mods.

i just want to know where would the best and most leaninent place to get it passed would be.

the car is perfectly road worthy just you know what people can be like.

im new to skylines australia and would really appreciate your help.

hope to meet you all soon thanks

kyle.

hey mate. as long as its roadworthy and nothing is to major it should be fine. just make sure the majors are covered

tyres, height, noise....if it has a exhaust id say go to a exhaust shop and get a baffle box made up...powatone did one for me and it cost 200 works sweet as. all lights work, horn, etc etc. also make sure everything is tight eg steering wheel, gearknob, seats dont move.

the more major obvious stuff that is roadworthy then more likely they will let small things like a aftermarket steering wheel etc pass.

i got mech work done at craighall mechanical, they changed everything over for me, then took it to ultimate tunes and it passed. i had pod still on, aftermarket gearknob.

also...dont dodgy anything up. stuff like steel wool for the noise just wont work.

Hey thanks alot

im not sure if tyres are quite good enough but they look decent

i need to get one reverse light done and park lights

also the exhuast is loud but i dont think it would be over the limit.

plus the bov vents back into the engine so they cant get me on that

ive never owned a turboed car before and dont know really what im up against

it would be cool if some1 had sometime to come and check it out for me

im so glad i joined this site already had some help and its been half an hour.

i have an appointment for a rego inspection at DMB automotive in dickson they seem pretty cool good choice????

Is DMB the one next to Woolies servo?

If it is they used to be called Jacko's Automotive or something like that. I havent heard anything bad about them so they should be good. But if you drop by my servo (shell next to epic) on weekends or Tuesday night I'll give you a discount on fuel ^^

Paul White is Gungahlin is also great for rego checks. They wont try to rip you off but will stick to the book so that you wont get defected on something stupidly obveous in the first week such as car height.

Cheers and welcome to SAU XD

lol thanks heaps guys

and paul where exactly is your servo lol ill be there as soon as i have rego, fuel prices are toooooo high lol

i had a day pass yesterday to get some stuff done just got to get a ew alternator now before i can drive it again :bunny:

once again thanks

Shell Servo next to Epic on Federal highway. You arent really far from it being in Watson. :)

oh yeh i def no where it is now sweet once im on the road im there!

DMB or jackos are a rort.....ive had bad experiences with them on 2 occasions..... first one was i was selling my VR couple of years ago and they said it had a diff leak - there was no diff leak at all.... I had a fuel pressure hose snap and spill fuel all over the diff so it was just residue left over - they couldnt tell the difference.....

2nd was a rego inspection for my mazda (everyday car) they pick on everything and i mean everything...... I had it passed my NSW the day before and then they failed it the next day for ACT rego (had to transfer ownership into my name in NSW first before i could it in ACT - long story) they failed it on my front tyres - bald apparently..... they were slightly worn on the edge but nothing huge - 3 or 4mm thats it..... and they also failed my rear brake light above the window - idiots, i ended up getting into an argument with them about it, it was working fine when i dropped it off, what did you do to it - he was determined to prove me wrong, walked out in a huff with me to my car and checked it again.... his face was ammusing, the embarrasment in front of his customers made it worth while......

so stay away from them if you have any mods at all......or anything slightly wrong....

Paul white is great - actually my uncle in law - he used to be at melba shops servo but moved, so i dont use him anymore as its too far to drive cause of the hassle of getting home..... i use the new guy down the road.....easy to walk home.

also stay well clear of ACDC in MItchell......biggest rorts in canberra and cheats..... dodgy to the max.... claim they replace mechanical stuff with new stuff but use 2nd hand gear and charge full price........

DONT USE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We need to get those ultraviolet markers Today Tonight used...

But yes if DMB give you excuses goto Paul White, he won't stuff you around and will tell you front up what needs doing. He is also the first mechanic who has rung me to tell me that it wont cost as much as they didnt need to replace something in the end, something other places will leave out and charge you full price anyway.

ok so my car has ran out of rego now cause it got failed by Dickson left Right and Centre..

now True or False. if it is an import skyline or further more a modified import it must go to Dickson??.

if this is not true and there is a way around it i would love the help as my baby need to be back on the road

i don't want my beauty becoming a project car that sits there for months at a time before driving it.

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
