Nismo twin plate coppermix. I have the competition model which is rated a little higher with the Nismo Slave cylinder. I will NEVER change it for something else. It's behind a 400 rwkw 2.8 litre. Cant recommend it highly enough.

I have the same clutch, competition type as well, but for a gtst. It's actually called Super Coppermix-C

Interesting you have used the Nismo slave cylinder as it specifies not to be used on twin plate clutches. I was about to order it myself, but decided against it after reading about the warning and inquiring about it.

I got a quote of $1089 for the JB special. But after seeing what happened to Benm's car (flywheel exploded and wrecked the car) id rather go for a more expensive (and better to drive IMO) clutch that includes the flywheel

Also checkout NPC clutches, I should have my rebuilt clutch back from them this weekend.

I've heard there twin's are very good but expensive, ~2300, not so sure about the singles, haven't heard that much about them, there was a group buy on them on this forum not long ago....

2200 or thereabouts for a brand new twin plate is good value when you know it will never give you grief. The added benefit of NPC is they are very cheap to have rebuilt (should you ever want to sell it as a brand new clutch).

May be a little overkill for your application though.

I have to agree.. send Dan at ERD an email [email protected]

Dan and NPC have put together quite a few wicked clutches for me with flywheels for great prices!

and by far shit all over those jim berry's after seeing noel's explode and finding out he doesnt use the antiburst covers which is a must in my opinion for anything modified.

One word....Jim Berry

Thats 2 words :)

Bang for bucks go Jim Berry..with the current exchange rate the twin plate Nismo copper mix will cost twice that of Jims...lol

If you want BANG for your $$$ go JB

If you want a quality option with an anti burst cover that wont cause collateral damage @ a reasonable price contact Elite Racing

i got even better bang for my buck.

called up NPC today and ordered a custom clutch off them that will hold 350-370 awk. smooth to drive too i was guaranteed :P

As if that line hasn't been used before :P

Oh well, hope it works as well as they "guarantee"; if it doesn't what happens and who pays for the labour to remove and refit another clutch?

NPC does custom clutches like Jim Berry, they also do rebuilds, I got a pre-supercopper mix twin plate clutch rebuilt for $680, so if you get your hands on a worn clutch, just get a rebuild if you can't afford a brand new clutch (depending on condition of course).

I'd recommend NPC, the clutch feels very good so far but I won't know for sure until its worn in and I test it out properly :(

welllllllll......... after 2 weeks of this clutch something decided to go pop today whilst putting the hammer down. I cant get my car into gear. lets see what the prob is.

basically i went to snap 2nd gear and i heard a small clunk noise. then i couldnt get it into gear after that. But when the car is off i can put it into gear.

if i turn the car on whilst in gear and pressing the clutch the car goes to take off. faulty clutch or workmanship? i dont know. But i am definately pissed off right now.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
