Hey just wondering if anywhere is open on a weekend for me to get a tune as i live in victor harbor and it is hard to get a day off during the week just for a tune. If ther is can anyone recommend a good tuner?? Cheers jarad

are you after a tune, plugs/oil etc or a just a dynotune???

what ecu are you using??

Aussie exhaust and dyno will do it on the weekend for you

Yeah i want to try aussie exhaust and dyno some time soon aswell, mainly becuase one of the guys is a very regular helpful user on here. hes got a pic of a r33 in his sig or avatar im thinking. Seems like a top bloke by what he posts.

Ive also used boostwerx and they were good, but i also like supporting the smaller guys too!

just after a tune and check over dont need service only changed oil and filters last week just running stock ecu wher bouts they located?

corner of port/south rd hindmarsh next to the car wash look for the yellow building ask for michael

I dont think speed lab does rb25's he is a specialist at rb20's went to take it to him before, so who will tune my car on a saturday and can do a half decent tune with stock ecu?? I would like to do it this weekend if possible cheers

if you want a full tune, call jeff from speedlab, as we use the rb20 computer when tuning the rb25's.. yea u loose ur vct but the extra power you gain after having it tuned will be better anyway! jus so you know.. the most we have ever seen the vct make is 8kw! that is by doing a run and then un-plaging it and doin another run back to back!

jeffs the man! :P

You obviously dont know the concept of the VCT then mate, It's not about helping outright power, vct is to assist with bottom end torque, Look at the power curve on a before and after run and notice the bottom end will be a fair bit different....VCT turns off after 4000rpm anyway so that 8kw had nothing to do with it.

Save some pennies and get a Power FC mate.

if you cant find a RB25 pfc get a R32/33 GTR one :P thats what im doing but thats due to AWD not working properly on the RB25 one i had

but Cubes along with Boostworx have done the R&D on making them work with RB25's

Depending on what mods you have you may not need either a power fc ($1000+) or a remap ($550+). Your best bet is to call up Shaun from boostworx (+1) and see exactly what he recommends as the most cost effective solution to get what you want from your rb25det.

F@*k now i dont kno wat to do lol, spoke to speedlab today he was gona remap a rb20 ecu and tune for 550, last dyno i had my car got 220rwkw at turbo tune (same dyno speedlab uses) which he said was good usually 33's make near that mark with remap. Im now thinking just buy power fc and i should be able to get more power out of my car. Dont really want to spend 550 to get similiar power would be pointless. Wher do u get power fc's from and how much? anyone kno how much boostworx charged to tune and install one??

    • Nope.    Grab a varex and turn it down as you get close to home, win win?
    • So, I've had my V36 for about a month now and have already copped an "excessive exhaust noise" notification from QLD TMR, reported by someone in my local area. It's a twin as per the original, and can have a bit of a throaty note to it when idling cold 😄 and if I do get up it a bit, it can be noisy, but it did pass a roadworthy inspection before sale, so.... ... but in the interest of being a good neighbour, I do want to quieten it down a bit. Is anyone here running a quiet aftermarket cat-back on their V36 or 370Z? And the big, bold question: does an aftermarket cat-back really make much of a performance difference on these cars?
    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
