i use to have a S2 rx7 with a welded diff and i used it as a daily, was not much different to a single spinner or lsd, just chirped on tight turns and made a lot of noise in multi level car parks with a shiny surface, got pulled over a few times by the cops and they never picked it, would be unusual for a cop to spot a locked diff.

A mate also had an r31 with a spool and that was much the same.

just looked into spools and that's the way i'm gonna go :P

just read an installation article on r31skylineclub forums and shouldn't be a prob to DIY...

same as a weldy really...

thanx for the replys guys

just mini spool it, will never break pick em up off ebay for $90 or so and there legal :)

Since when are mini-spools / spools legal?

And in which state?

I've always been under the impression they were illegal.

definitely not legal but i drove my rx7 around for a year and go pulled over a couple of times in industrial areas at 2am and nothing was ever said about it.

My 33 lsd has shit its self, do they make mini spools for 33 diffs?

    • The drop shipping isn't the issue I believe, the issue is that a US business is getting stuff manufactured in China, and then selling them, this gets reported in their taxation, thus, I believe, the US government still wants its pound of flesh Whether it is the 10% tariff, which I'm happy to pay to play with, or the 115%, which would be a deal breaker Hopefully this gets sorted sooner rather than later as impatient Mark is impatient...LOL
    • Amazing build thread mate. I wish mine was still on here too. Love the seats. How did they wear overtime? Great to see you are still working on it bud.
    • Drop shipping isn't hard for them to sort out...
    • I bought it for a forever car bud. Was really lucky. It's one owner and kept fully serviced and immaculate. Kills me to modify it but will keep it to the engine and GB only. Body will stay stock and intend to keep all the parts. It's a Silver with factory Altia kit. My mate and I are building it together in the garage. It's currently an auto and just bought new manual GB and parts from Michael at Kudos. They've been great.
    • So, as for the intake parts, part supply/delivery is currently problematic  As the parts are not made in the US (probably China) new tariffs are making things slow to happen, thanks Trump The joint I am getting the intake parts from, FAB9, are in the US, typically they are delivered to the US then sent out from there to, well, here, or wherever  FAB9 are currently looking at shipping directly from the supplier to avoid tariff hits,  so now I'm waiting until that little chestnut gets sorted out My impatience is blossoming nicely
