Hey guys. I couldn't really find a "Members Rides" section so i thought i would post it in here with my fellow NSW people lol.

I have an R33 GTS-T Series 1 (1993) and i'm loving it :)

when i bought the car it had the following:

- EMS Computer

- GCG Hi Flow Turbo

- Turbosmart Boost Controller

- Front Mount

- Forged Pistons

- Koni Suspension

- Pod Filter

- 19" Gestalt Diamond Series (from Ozzy Tyres)

- Respray in Gold Rush with Green Pearl

- Alarm System

As the usual thing to do when you first buy a car i changed the spark plugs, oil and oil filter (as this wasn't done in a long time). And it made alot of difference (got rid of that misfire at boost)

Anyway i booked myself in to get my car tuned and the guy said to me that the car hasn't even been tuned before. That the EMS Computer was just put in and left on basic settings to make the car run.

He also said that the car was running at only 6PSI and he is amazed that it could run as long as it had been without the tune.

SOOOOO... he started tuning it. everything was sweet but then because of the 'non tuned' engine my spark plugs were already screwed and once he tried boosting it beyond the 10PSI limit it misfired badly. So he tuned it to 8PSI for me. (which i'm happy with until i get the new spark plugs and coil packs :) )

Now im driving it around and enjoying it alot more with a MUCH better power delivery YAY! :D

My next mod will just be the oil change again with new spark plugs and wack on some good coil packs (im going to go with "Super Spark" and see how they run)

Anyway guys i will continue to update you's on the progress and things and hopefully i can make things interesting for you LOL.

Here are some pics of the car and the tuning with my dyno sheet.

Thanks guys/gals

Elliott

UPDATE:

Should be changing the oil (AGAIN) this weekend hopefully and also the spark plugs

HOPEFULLY the spark plugs can handle it now that its all good and tuned and hoping that the car will run smoother after the change (not that it doesnt run good now, but any improvement is good lol)

Thanks for watching guys/gals

I recon haha

it was actually the bright red colour. But my camera on my stupid phone couldnt pick up the colour lol.

I even had video's and things but it got so loud that the microphone on the phone couldnt handle it and it started making like a scratching sound. Like as if i was holding the phone outside of my car whilst driving.

You wont make that much power on stock injectors or with stock fuel pump if you have one still. What are your plugs gapped to? They should be at 0.8mm for the boost you intend to run (not the boost you are running now though).

If you still have stock injectors then maybe make sure you have an aftermarket pump, add an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and you should be able to get up around 220-230rwkw.

    • Bummer...yeah i "need" something to "ease" up the work and for my driving it would be enough.    Iam counting the tune "without" turbo. I do not mean "cheap" like something from Temu around 200 USD, "Cheap" is something around 1000 USD?
    • Starter motors used to use the weight of metal (magnets) to provide torque. Now they use (more) current instead. This. It's completely normal.
    • So thing that had me stumped, but I think is OK....is that when it was up in the air, in neutral I had it running to bleed to coolant while I put the wheels back on. I noticed the rears were turning (slowly) which I'd never seen before 20250928_163512.mp4     Because there had been an issue with clutch slip due to pedal adjustment on the dyno, I assumed there was still and issue so spent some quality time upside down under the dash adjusting the pedal....but no matter what I did the wheels still turned in neutral. Even disconnected the master cylinder to pedal rod and same. In despair, I even removed the clutch slave so there was no chance of any preload causing it.....still happened. So either: 1. Something is not right in the bellhousing, or 2. Its a thing sometimes with cold, thick gearbox oil Internet says it might be 2, I hope so!
    • OK, few more things sorted and it is ready for a shakedown on 10-Oct, with one weird thing. Changed the run in oil and filter for the good stuff. 8l came out, about 8.5 went in with filter so that looks all good. Changed the starter (again), this time for a brand new one, works good. Interesting that the Taaaarks one is shorter than factory but spins harder, I guess electronics have moved on a little in the last 30 years. Will be nice to have a bit of extra space under there. Put the timing cover back on, and noted where the cam gears were set as a record.  Will need to double check the timing but it is pretty close. Also put the coil pack cover and intake snorkel back on. Exhaust Inlet Changed the water out for coolant, bled up nicely. Removed the rear brake pads (well worn factory sumitomo ones!), gave the hardware a good clean and reassembled. I've put bendix XP on the back again because the price is excellent at $150 a set and they worked well on the V37. Front pads have plenty so no issue there
