All of that should be ok, but I don't think your bonnet will pass. You're not supposed to have reverse facing vents. They reckon if there is oil flying up and it comes out the vents it will be all over your windscreen and you can't see lol. Just take it over as is and see what they say.

lolz.. mite screw on the protector thing under the hood before taking it there.. i heard turbo-timers were illegal because it keeps the engine running after the driver has left the car. is that correct??

I've heard that too, but I'm not sure what the pits say. It may be that you can have them but you can't leave your car while its running or something stupid. Just see what they say I guess.

hehe thats what i'm afraid of. worst case scenario i mite have to take out all the mods and just take it over inspection again. hope it doesnt come to that!

ya 33s had the battery behind the rear seats

that bonnet will most certainly fail

turbo timers are fine as ive never had problems with any of my cars going through

make sure the car has a "self arming" immoboliser as you will require one

coilovers is a bit iffy, some pass some dont

just take it over, get a list of what needs to be done

everyone makes it sound like a anal rape but its really just another inspection/test

good luck!

Depends on what Teins you have.

If they are like superstreet where only the spring seat is height adjustable they may pass it. If its like flex which is double height adjustable they wont pass it.

If i can help you with the suspension at all, just let me know :)

Cheers

Off topic.. but CUTE BUNNY! :)

You will need an immobiliser, eastern states cars aren't required to have one, so chances are you don't have one in there yet. So go get one.

If the car is low, it shouldn't be too big of a deal, mine only has 15cm of clearance at the tip of the front bumber and they passed mine without any issues.

Make sure all of your wipers, lights, safety equipment works.

To save you some hassle, just unplug your turbo timer or set it top not have a countdown.

Hide your boost controller away if possible, it shouldn't be a problem, but best to play it safe.

Minimum clearance is 150mm from the lowest part under your car.. I don't think that includes side skirts but it does include exhaust as far as I know.

Required by law is 100mm clearance from the lowest point of the car (sideskirts, bumpers, exhaust or whatever). The only thing that doesnt get included is flexible mud flaps. If they are a solid mud guard such as late model falcons etc these get included.

Also the law states that this clearance is to be had with half a tank of fuel and ALL seating positions filled.

Hope that helps.

Oh and this Avatar was given to me by a Mod of SAUWA....i could change it, but said person will just change it again LOL....that aside, please take my above comments seriously LOL

also

-your tail lights will be illegal.

-Your alloy pedals will be

- and your tint looks pretty black.

Alll really depends on the inspector you get and the pit you go to. As mentioned best to just go over and see what they list.

thanks for the offer :P appreciate that!..

so this is what happened today.. i took the car as is today first thing in the morning.

wasnt a shock when it failed inspection. surprisingly it wasnt that bad!. the dude wanted me to take the bov (its legal) but the guy wanted me to take it off. the car was too low so that went on the sheet as well. and had to remove the racing pedals. lolz. i took out the pedals, went to a nearby workshop ("kyp" not the friendliest lol) and put in a stock bov. didnt have time to raise suspensions so we tried our luck and maxed out the tyres. the clearance was well above 100mm. i'd say it was atleast 125mm. took it over the pits again and then the guy puts a rod under the car and says that its still low coz the exhaust system is hanging too low. :P .

so i had to run to a friend's work shop (evolution r). the dude took out my exhaust and put a cannon on. now the car will definetly pass but the car is alot more noisy. dont know whats going to happen there. if they say that the car is too noisy, i'm just going to say that its always been like that and i just adjust increased the height using the coilovers. hopefully i can get away with it.

    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
