Hey all,

Ive searched through the RB26 modifaction section and have come up with wht i think should be ok for what im after..

But not being that knowlegable the numbers and turbos all mix into each other etc etc lol...

Im just after someone to look over what i have already got and what i am currently searching for and either say yes that would be sutible for what im after or no mayb you should look at this..... etc.

First off i should say my car is a 1995 GTR R33 non-vspec.

What im after is decent response as its 90% a daily driver but still be good enough to shoot down the quater mile (if adel ever gets a bloody strip) in decent times. 11s.

Defiantly want over the 300kws mark but i guess not by to much.

Be able to have a fairly safe tune and still get those two above things.

These are the mods i have currently and dynos at 261kws -

Modifications:

Suspension New blisten Shocks, Lowered King Springs

Work XD9s 18 x 10 +18 with Kumo 275s all round

Kakimoto Catback Exhaust, Just Jap front pipe, high flow cat

700cc SARD injectors

TOMEI cam gears

HKS pods

Custom Cold Air Intake

Trust Intercooler

Nismo Fuel Pump

Power Fc and Controller

Greedy Profec 2 Boost Controller

Twin Plate Clutch

HKS boost gauge

Carbon Wing Blade

And these are the mods i am looking at getting to hopefully finish off my car to get out of it what i listed above -

2860r-5 Turbos

Bosch Z32 AFM's and plugs

Tomei Dump Pipes

any thing else i may need?

Would this set up get what im after?

Any ideas or suggestions?

Any help would be great as i dont want to go ahead and find out ive fallen short.....

cheers

Adam

yep, that will be a good package mate. the only thing I would add would be a nice oil cooler kit (get one that mounts in either the left or right duct in the front bumper, not the ones that mount in front of the radiator).

you could also consider nismo AFMs over the Z32s. no plug mod needed and no mod to your intake set-up either. they are basically a Z32 sensor in a standard casing.

fked if I know for sure, but for just over 300kw you want the smaller ones (I think the -7s). the other ones are more like a 2530 and will give 350-380rwkw and are more laggy.

-7s 300-330rwkw

-5s 360-400rwkw

You can run 11's on the stock turbos, so with -7/R31N1/GT-SS, you'll run 11's without a worry.

And yeah, Nismo AFM's.

Stock dumps are fine from what ive seen.

Im using them (250rwkw @ 12psi) and there are cars over 300rwkw with -7's using them also without issue and no noticeable performance issue.

I wish i had the coin to finish my setup for the full 20psi+ just to show that stock dumps can do it, overlap with a 'dump equipped' car and show there is no difference :)

ahhh cheers for that, ill start to look for -7sand nismo afms then instead. glad i asked now.. looking through the many pages just got a bit confusing for me lol...

and dumps.... i hear what your syaing... lol.... but id hate to find out later i should have had some. and seeing as ill have the turbos off and out i might just add them... lol u know just in case lol

my problem is tho and yes will sound stupid, but im not 100% sure what type to get as i have heard a few not being drop ins. Then you needed them grounded off new shimes etc etc etc

I just didnt want the hassel. But yer wouldnt mind a set

Cams again... debateable (more so than dumps)

IMO a set of cam gears properly dialled in, all you'll need

Yeah, agreed. While the lumpy idle is tough, it's completely unnecessary. There's a black R32 GT-R that I'm reasonably familiar with that runs ~370 RWKW on standard cams.... :(

    • Thanks mate, couldn't find in VIC, ended up ordering one from NSW, getting rwc to get new plates and registration done.
    • Before all the EFR fan boys come in, have a look at: https://www.garrettmotion.com/racing-and-performance/performance-catalog/turbo/g-series-ii-g30-825-58mm/ It also comes in a T4 1.06 divided housing. I would dare say if you want response & also decent power, this thing would chop.   AND apologies, just re-read your post, you've already bought the turbo... whatever you do, make sure you stick with divided housing and proper twin scroll manifold.
    • People have got to stop doing that. ShatGPT is not a search engine. It is a hallucination factory.   I also would recommend the 1.05. The .83 will "work" for you , in that it will be more responsive, but I think you'll find that it won't be anywhere near as good running it out to 8000rpm as the big housing will be.
    • Decided for the first time ever I would tow my car TO the track day on the same working theory as bringing tools and spares "if I have it I wont need it, but if I leave it behind i will 100% need it" all setup and ready to go out and try these A050 for the first time First session showed I needed to stiffen up the dampers a touch but still managed a few 1:21's without much effort. things were looking good. Came in a dropped the tyres down  to 26/28 as they had gotten to 35/33C from 22C cold The first lap of session two I managed to drop into 1:20's. Then in the second lap into the second session. Coming into T3 and I suddenly lost brake pedal followed by some huge rear end vibrations and scraping sounds. Got it back into the pits after session ended and found this. in the attached video, all of the wobble is in the hub its self, wheel is mint, and bearing feels tight. lKXLqpd - Imgur.mp4   Deciding it was a bent spindle I tried to find bearing/hub assembly locally but was unsuccessful so it was loaded back onto the trailer i luckily brought it on to drag it back home
