phenline
i would rather have a stock gtr than a big horsepower gtst that has lost all its driveability. xtc
in all seriousness i wouldnt bother spending money on the gtst. i have owned one series 2 with auto trans and it just doesnt do it for me no matter how much money you put into it. if you are still into the modding worldgame then get the gtr. you get the rb26, the twins, the awd, fatter ass and the badge. ive gone the opposite and have bought and evo, its a really fast, reliable car with nearly all the features of the gtr but not as hight of tuning potential as gtr. although ive only had the car for a day im already thinking that ive made the wrong choice and ill be trading/buying a v35 in next couple days. taipan73
Sell the gts-t and buy a GTR. I own both atm, they are both pretty much stock and there is a fair amount of difference between the two such as handling, driving position, power etc. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/242783-mod-the-gtst-or-buy-a-gtr/page/2/#findComment-4233818 Share on other sites

Levi_
Too get your GTSt up to a good level (what I'd consider a good level at-least) you're going to be looking at: Manual Conversion - $1500 (+ HD clutch etc - $1000) New ECU - $1500 Fuel Pump + Injectors - $1000 HKS GT-RS (or similar) $4000 (taking into account the current dollar) Tuning/Workshop time - $500-2000 (depends on how much you do yourself) Boost Controller - $500 Exhaust - $1000 Suspension - $2000 Wheels - $2000 + tyres That's almost the cost of buying somebody else's GTSt that's already modded. But obviously it depends on what you have done already. Personally if I were in the same boat I'd get a 33GTR, amazingly I am pretty much in the same boat, except I'm holding off for a couple of years and I'll be buying a 34GTR instead . R32 Driver
Nissan didnt make the GTR for no reason unless your missus drives it alot then sell the GTST then get a GTR GTR with light mods and a tune will get 300awhp Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/242783-mod-the-gtst-or-buy-a-gtr/page/2/#findComment-4234303 Share on other sites
bubba
Nissan didnt make the GTR for no reasonunless your missus drives it alot then sell the GTST then get a GTR GTR with light mods and a tune will get 300awhp Light mods being boost and a tune lol It really depends on what YOU want to do with the car. You can make your auto handle the power (search for MV Automatics). But it's each to their own, I like the idea of a GTR but I know I will miss the pure sliding fun.. if I did get a GTR it would be a daily and I'd keep my GTSt for super happy sliding fun time Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/242783-mod-the-gtst-or-buy-a-gtr/page/2/#findComment-4234782 Share on other sites

jarrod83
Can you afford to buy a gtr and do work to it? If thats the case get the gtr, otherwise you can still get gts-ts pretty damn quik, stik a rb30 under it, thatll smooth out the big injectors and cams heaps of torque off boost aswell.. After the amount I've spent on a totally stock car to do up everything outside of the engine.. i think around the 16-17 mark, could be more you lose track of all the little bits you spend.. id say its much easier to buy one already modded and keep some money left over for a rainy day Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/242783-mod-the-gtst-or-buy-a-gtr/page/2/#findComment-4238719 Share on other sites

bubba
I dislike how people refer to gtst's and gtr's in terms of how economical it is to get power out of the respective vehicles.. it should be about the driving experience and what YOU like/prefer. Not everyone buys a gtst because they can't afford a gtr or it's maintenance/modification costs. Some people are purists and don't believe in 4wd for a "true" driving experience!
