Darren, i really like the evo wagon and legnum's but if its space you're worried about you really can't go past the stag even though for me it was third on the list but you're bigger than me.

You'll have to come to soccer soon and i'll bring the evo.

yeh evo wagon is mint

seen one at mitsubishi on cnr of south road and daws road, i stopped and got out n looked at it n DAMMMMMMMMMM

buy evo wagon

wouldn't be an evo wagon, they're rare as hens teeth, certainly wouldn't be one in a mitsi dealership. Come to think of it i don't think there's one in S.A

Ahhh I love the fact ThatI own the ONLY GT4 N Edition in SA...bought this thing in (cheers iron chef) becaus i didnt want a Legnum (sounds like a vegetable) or a Stagea which everyone has.

Wanted something completely different. 200KW AWD wagaon, Recaro interior VSC ABS & TRD go fast bits...love it.

you need to look at the running cost and repair cost between all three cars aswell as their sizes.

the legnum's engine bay is cramed full of parts and id say being so full of motor that doing anything on it would be a headf**k but they look much better then the other 2 cars and the inside of them is pretty luxery compared to the others as well. ive been in one and their nice to drive in....

the stag's motor would be much easier to work on as is a striaght six and parts would be interchangable from 33/34's and would be easy to source as there every where. the price is normally very fair and fairly updated and roomy interior. there's not a whole lot to fault as a daily family wagon as long as thats all your wanting to use it for....

the evo wagon is tuff. id love to have one and you'd assume that the motor and running gear parts would be interchangable with the other evo's of its age. ive never seen another one in adelaide. its just the price difference between the other 2 cars and this one and like other mitsi turbos the turning curicle would be shit and fuel usage wouldnt be that great put great power delivery for sure. a mates monty carlo vr4 with minor mods made 171 awkw's with shit loads of torque.

in the end try and go for a drive WITH the whole family and see what they all say? my pick would be the stag if it was only between the 3 cars.

if you say so, but explain brand new lancer with evo kit, with a front mount

o and it was a wagon??

unless i was seeing things but it was right infront of me, must have been an illusion

Mate,

If your in SA your more than welcome to test drive a few of my wagons I have Stageas & Legnums both is Manual and Auto. I also have a few M35's landing. You find the cars are priced well as we brought them when the Aussie dollar was high.

I am a big fan of the Mitsubishi Legnum VR4, but at the end of the day its a personal chioce with the car that best suits your needs.

there are a few evo wagons coming into the country now, i think only as of mid this year they got compliance???

If there's an Evo wagon in the country, it's only as a personal import. It's not even eligible under SEVS, and probably never will be. Case closed on that one.

Out of the other two, I'd choose an M35 over a Legnum, and a Legnum over a C34. If you want manual, then Legnum all day every day.

not having a go mate. If its still there i would love to c pics.

If its brand new it can't be an evo 9 wagon as they've ceased production and the evo 10 doesn't come out in a wagon.

I guess someone could've turbo'd the new lancer hatch??? mmmmmmmmmmm.............

leggy isnt that hard to work on.. it looks very crammed from factory, but once you actually take a few intake pipes and the covers off, theres not that much in there.

just did a manual conversion in a mates legnum this weekend, went ahead without any issues.

started yesterday, was driving it today.

I'd hardly call around 25-30 Stageas in SA as everyone having one ... unless our popluation dropped to around 25

My advice would be to test drive the cars you're interested in, then think about if you're going to mod the car of choice and how costly or how hard it would be to mod compared to other choices. How easy would spares/parts be to find? :ninja:

    • I wasn’t able to replicate the sound anymore. It was a one time sound so maybe it was just coincidence but it was like small pebbles being dropped in a coke can.   should I try cleaning the MAF? It could be it’s functioning but dirty? I don’t know.
    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
    • Well they got my money but they are not getting my gearbox !
    • It's needed for rolling idle up, and I think it is a decider on VCT also.
    • I mean, not really. Link ECU's can absolutely still have errors from the ECU thinking it's getting a sensor it's not expecting. I would imagine the speed at the ECU level in Nistune does absolutely nothing anyway? I assume the ECU does not do any fancy TC stuff with regards to front+rear wheel speed or anything of that like anyway. Someone who uses Nistune may be more fluent in it.
