1/4 tank from brisbane to dayboro with my van sitting on 3-6K going through the hills. (it will do high RPM but chews fuel doing it.)

my fuel light was flashing as I came into the showgrounds.

NFI From sunnybank to asply and half way to the meet point and back to aspley 23 liters

then fill up at the servo out the front

then from the servo to the meet the quick way and back gauge says only 1/4 used but i don't believe it

Jeez, how'd u go getting to the nearest fuel station? Was there one in town? Didn't really pay attention.

well i got a stagea (RB25DET) - but i think my sensors are gone. took up 30L of fuel to get from Noosa to EightMilePlains and taking it easy the whole way :P

so about 20L per 100Kms :(

I think i need to get myself a tune, new AFM and new O2 Sensor and a major service :(

i filled up right before i left yesterday which was from noosa to aspley then to the location then back to the highway and a lil bit of my own mountain cruising i did 450kms and still have a quater of a tank left. tahts with no aircon.

50k around town + Kinga to Goldy 100-110Kph cruise cont. = 348 Km used 32.63 ltrs (9.43L/100Km)

Goldy to Aspley, Dayboro on to Kilcoy = 276Km used 32.84ltrs(11.89L/100km)

Kilcoy to home= 134KM (Yet to fill up)

10.42L/100K average (Not to shabby.)

From aspley to final meet = 1/2 tank.

final meet to my home = 1/2 and a bit.

no aircon too

That is not good...

My car with 'extensive' mods got 10.25litres per 100km on the day. Included all the city and country driving too. All with the air-con on.

it seems that im wasting abit too much fuel.

here are some of my results over the last couple of months

sorry they are in km/L not L/100kms

6.5km/L

6.7km/L

7.4km/L

6.8km/L

7.2km/L

so thats an average of 6.93km/L

have replaced the O2 sencor didnt make any see able difference, are running bp 98 for the last two tanks hoping that that will start to make a small improvement.

I have a pod filter with no shelding, so was going to get an aftermarket air box for it, any other ideas on improving km/L ? fuel filter, to improve fuel pressure? better coils?

I do about 50/50 city highway driving from coopers plains to the valley for work.

Stock ECU and running a little more boost than standard? If so it'll be running stupidly rich, which will obviously have an effect on your economy. Do you drive with a bit of a heavy foot?

Other than that, check for air leaks, give it a service, change the filters etc.

yer, 10psi, drive it pretty nice tho, so should be in closed loop most of the time.

    • HELP   Hey all, Is there an accelerator cable from another Nissan that can be used on the R33 GTST RB25DET with a Greddy forward facing plenum?  Thanks in advance  Rob
    • Or do we think it was installed to give 1 bar of boost max, all day, everyday?
    • So could it be assumed it has been installed intentionally with potentially a power FC boost controller kit?
    • Had my rig on Matt's dyno at PITS the other day. After a few years between tunes I added a few sensors and swapped intercoolers. Result. 553hp at 26psi. Not bad for an FJ20 that was built in 2007. The problem.. It filled the overflow bottle on hard runs which leads me to believe the head gasket isn't sealing. I have a coolant pressure sensor which was reading cap pressure at 22psi and occasionally overrunning to 23/24 psi on deceleration after a pull. It was not spiking. It has arp2000 head studs and a cometic gasket. As its been 18 years in service, I pulled the engine out and head off. Everything looks good but we obviously have an issue. Where I'm at.. Years ago I had the same issue, I checked the stud tension and they were all over the place. Some at 60 to 70 and some up near 90. I nipped them all to 100ft lbs and this stopped the water push until now. I believe this compromised the gasket back then. What do I do? 2 options are..  1) I bought arp 625+s, which I could put in with a new gasket. Thinking Kameari this time, reassemble and try again. 2) strip the block, get fire rings machined in with copper gasket and try that. I do not want to push it more than 28 to 30psi. I think the turbo will be out by then anyway. (G30-770). My other concern is the long term ability of a copper head gasket. Are they streetable for years? I feel like a new gasket with the new studs will probably suffice, but I don't know. Any thoughts welcome and advice on copper gaskets and fire rings. Thanks!
    • I'm a fan of the JZX110, and the Aristo. Big cruiser cars, and with the factory cars, super comfortable and feel like you're driving an armchair! And the JZ motors are a pretty nice engine too, especially with some basic mods.   The import process, and the need to be able to trust people, and the fact there's so many scammers around is what ever puts me off wanting to go through that ordeal!
