is there some like kill switch u can get ? my dad was saying something about it after i told him alot of cars are getting stolen recently wouldnt mind looking into that if anyone knows about it?

Ive had one in my car for 6 years, cost me less than $20 fitted... so yeah easy to do yourself, or even get someone else to do it.

If you were a SAU-Vic member you'd get access too a mate of mine who's been doing club discount alarms/immobilisers for years (50+ cars now he tells me from SAU) so ye... fair few people out there that are setup well, at an affordable price.

You couldnt steal my car unless it was on the back of a flatbed or a few hours re-wiring the whole car to get it to start (i have a number of immobiliser points, alarms and kill switches).

ash can you pm me the details... all of a sudden i think i might need to add some extra security...

Sorry to hear mate. Im in the northern suburbs aswell, I will keep a look out and if I see your car around, I will pass on the information to the local police. Its a shame, thats the fourth skyline ive heard of going missing around here in the last 2 months. But none of the others had alarms. What was the number plate, incase they were not clever enough to change them?

its all in the members section (member deals)

Just call the alarm guy and tell him what your after :(

unfortunately for me, factory alarm setup. i had my viper alarm which i just bought sitting in my room ready for installation today.

im regretting now i didnt push to have it put in sooner.. :(

heard about the stagea's getting stolen .... now skylines getting pushed away from the crime scene...

people are geting more skilled on how to get the fast.

detachable steering wheels sounds good right about now

And another one bites the dust without an Alarm

All to common theme of late... seems theifters target the cars without alarms... i never would have thought they would be like that!

Well if you had insurance at least it'll cover it, and with some luck the value might be more than what the value drop has been in the last 6-12 months so you might come good of a bad situation

thats a mint ride. will keep a lookout for it.

i always ask this question for my own lil survey, did you have a club lock at least? I always club lock my car eventhough it has an alarm and my mates think im strange.

I always do the same. ClubLock for the win. Although I have heard of people having their clublocks/steering wheel sawn in half in an attempt to steal the car, which is always a worry.

It never ceases to amaze me the way people can be so cruel and take what isn't righfully theirs. I hope these individuals get hit by a bus. All the best in finding the car mate, I will keep an eye out.

Club locks dont work.

I had an old car of mine broken into while i wasnt near it for about an hour and i come back - club lock on the floor broken in pieces.

Its not a deterrent at all. Only thing that saved my car from being flogged - i had a fuel isolation switch hidden (i have a love for hidden switches/buttons to prevent stealing) :(

i think the club lock can work against you. Thieves may walk past your car, see the clublock on the wheel and assume that you dont have an alarm and then try to break into it.

i have an immobiliser with alarm. all black wiring so the wires dont stick out at all in the loom, just blends in with all the other wiring.

very worrying about all the skylines being stolen, especially since im moving down there after xmas

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
