well as my car was smashed last night i will not be attending :D

dd have been notified and whoever was next on the waiting list will now get a place

See you all bright and early on Saturday morning Guys.

Dont forget to pump up your tyres BEFORE you arrive at the circuit, better to do them on Friday night.

Also make sure you arrive on time, no late night on Friday !

and just so it is perfectly clear...

NO SPECTATORS ARE ALLOWED AT THIS DRIVING COURSE

Hey guys, I'll be down there the entire day taking photos of the events too.

I'll be offereing CD's of your car throughout the day, all shots of your car only that i take during the day will be included on the CD. it will be $40.

Or if you just want that 1 sweet shot of your car sideways i will be able to offer prints to be sent to you a little bit after the day (because i will need to do the printing) for $20 for an A4 size photo.

You will be able to see all the shots i have because i will setup toward the end of the day with a few laptops displaying imgages.

So does that mean that driver dynamics are allowing you to take photos?

will there be video's too??

i will buy one for sure but im not sure if i will have any money on the day. my stupid boss hasn't paid me yet...

any way i can order one and pay next week?

I Cant wait For Saturday ive changed my tyres to real crap ones with hardly any tread so they will spin like no tomorrow.

I was so happy about it after i changed them that i did a nice Snakey down the street in the dry...... oops!

i didnt think they would spin that easy?

;)

but now im worried that i might chew them up completely on the day cause they really have low tread

what do you guys think?

haha damn was expecting to rock up with a dirty car ;)

Now ill need to give it a clean so it will look semi-decent haha

Would have been better if you kept the good tyres on.

The track is going to be wet, so your tyres are going to spin easily anyway.

Due to the wet surface you are not going to chew as much rubber as you would in the dry.

The car is easier to control with good tyres all round.

Having said that i have really good tyres at the front (T1Rs) and ok ones at the back (Hankook), but this is what i had on the car, will be getting T1Rs at the rears soon, before the next SAU cruise :action-smiley-069:.

PS: Have not washed my car since Autosalon '08, but last weekend i did give it a spray over at the carwash. The track is going to be wet so all the shit on the track will get your car dirty in no time.

I'm out. Car is now running lean...cant get dyno until tonight...have been royally f**ked around all week, leaving me 1/2 day to try and get it sorted...which is simply not long enough :(

I would recomend small wheels if you have them and tyres with good tred.

Chineese cheepos tyres ftw but as Al mentioned even if you have good tyres on they will not wear badly as it will be wet.

Tyres with no tred is potentionaly going to end your day quickly and waste your money. I would describe no tred as being on the indicator ie 3mm tred left.

As I said 3mm may get you through but is an unnessary risk.

yeah i hear ya bit lat now my rears are on the indicators so if i pop one bad luck for me but at least it will make a good photo.... :(

reason i changed is cause the one i had on are fairly good and i didnt wanna wreck em so i put them on the front.. it will help me steer better anyway

great day. had a blast. damn its hard to make drifting look good. my noggin got a floggin from the sun though.

good to see some familar and new faces. definitly recommned it to those that missed out.

thanks again Danielle for letting me take your spot ;)

    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
    • There is a guy who said he can weld me piping without having to cut chassis, maybe I do that ? Or do I just go reverse flow but isn’t reverse flow very limited once again?
