I used to play any sport I could get my hands on. Cricket, Hockey, Squash, Swimming, Track and Field stuff, Cross Country, Boxing to name a few. Now I just go to the gym to keep fit and try to play squash once a week.

Go in the slip courden dood!! Once I took nine catches of five different bowlers playing at second slip... :whoops:

Best one was I think, the fourth wicket, keeper dived, the ball deflected off his right glove webbing, first slip jumped up and it hit the tips of his fingers, then I launched forward and took a great diving catch. That match I also scored 64 off 47 balls.. I was quite chuffed actually! :)

Worse innings was one I played out bush, we were 4/46 and I had two great partnerships and wickets five and six, however I couldn't seem to get on the board. The innings was stopped twice due to 48 degree heat, I managed to score 71 off about 150 something balls. I was struggling, didn't have a good feel for the wicket at all, I just couldn't lift the run rate (I think I only managed to hit six or so boundries)... Five hours play... I don't think I've ever been so exhausted in my life..

Ahhhh, back in the old days.... :yucky:

ROFL, so white and nerdy is a recurring theme? Hehe..

Going paintballing this arvo...any words of advice?

Normally I play lacrosse, but I have done almost every sport under the sun as a teenager. Also ride my bike to work (I'm not sure if this counts but i'll put it in anyway) and run, swim and wakeboard through summer. Amazingly I keep my festive shape all year round... Anyone here a PT?

Yeah, motorsport counts :P

Don't be a pussy (i.e. don't be afraid to stick your head out). If no-one is shooting at you and you don't have anyone to shoot at, move. Keep moving up on them, shorten the field and it will panic your opponents.

Also, paintball is a game of angles.. you want the widest possible angle on your enemy as it will reduce the cover they have. This means, don't rush up the middle of the field.. stick to the edges and look in/across field.

Lastly, gun up! always have your gun up!

P.S.

Now that I have a new desktop I has none :P Ebuddy isn't working for me today and I have training after a meeting in 10min.

You can do lacrosse, they start in Feb. Think Bayswater is the closest club to you, or Wembley.

You could always don a skirt and join us....

    • Wife wanted basket things in the wardrobe in our temporary house. Thought about ripping our the wardrobe and fitting the entire IKEA set, but it's a temporary house and we want to move in a few years. So IKEA advertises this as a 50cm unit, however the actually basket and rails measure 46cm wide. Only issue was depth, IKEA stuff is quite deep, where as the builder special junk is super shallow at less than 40cm. Send it, chopped the rails, then offset the mounting holes, job done, happy wife, less shit scattered all over the bedroom. Did the same to the other side too. Also drove the Skyline shit box today, dropped off oil at Supercheap Auto. I didn't realise they only now take max 2x bottles per visit. I visited 2x Supercheap Autos.
    • I've seen similar actually in my situation. You never know what tables are attempted to be used when the car thinks it's -99C or +200C. The fail state is not usually that extreme but you know what I mean - it was in my case though! This is where being able to read all the sensors is useful cause you see this stuff really quickly.
    • The above is very important. However as long as you keep timing relatively low, it's plausible to make your own knock ears and plausible to learn to tune with a modern ECU that can do wideband O2 correction like a boost controller. I mean if you only have one viable road to even drive the car on, learning to tinker to this level may be worth doing given you can't do much else with the car...?
    • I find the fact that the rear plate has to be bent inwards at the rear not so bad: but the front is just awful: It's like come on. (these are my very old, now retired/turned in plates) TBH it is a lot of money to fix a minor issue, the fact I said "I'll never really spend the money on doing this" is why people ended up buying them as a gift for a 'car guy' who can be hard to shop for.. for car guy things.
    • I just bent the ends of my premo plates. It even went through Regency like that after the engine conversion and the inspector (a great bloke!) just squinted his eyes and said "I didn't see that". Plates, and how they look, are just something that have zero importance to me.
