Crashed was an understatement, why would you push that hard on the last lap when he had no hope of catching button. "oh i was going to catch button and use my KERS to get past him on the finish line, just like in the movies"

Also why wasn't he classified as DNF?

Edited by PHaT MR30

I think it's because he was in 3rd place at the time of the accident and he would be the last driver on the lead lap at the end of the race. But still I don't know why he was pushing so hard on the last lap.

Poor Webber, first retirement of the season but it does takes take a big hit on the championship. I'm still watching what's going to happen at Brawn over the last 4 races...will team orders come into play or will Ross Brawn let them slug it out for the championship

On a side note...I can't take Kimi seriously with that shaggy long hair of his...just doesn't suit him.

team orders for Brawn would be to slug it out...after the Renault thing I don't think it would be wise for any team to ask a driver to move aside if the other driver was a legitimate candidate for the WDC.

At the end of the day I don't think Brawn would care who won as long as it was one of their drivers and if they fight it out to the death they're looking at a 1-2 finish in the WDC too.

Honda must be spewing :P

If Honda was still there...then the team wouldn't be where it was - the Honda engine apparently wasn't all that powerful. I remember Ross Brawn saying that the chassis was really good but the he needed a better engine package

I predict the current season will be the high point in Webbers career, with him finishing 2nd or 3rd in the WDC

actually, scrap that; He's on for 3rd or 4th, assuming he doesn't get taken out by n00bs in the opening corners of the remaining races or any reciprocating engine components deciding they want to see what fresh air feels like

Fark hamilton what is going on man! Got a bet on with a mte he will beat kimi on pts this year, i dont want to be paying up either

Im off to the next race in singaopre, hopefully a better result there. Fingers crossed either hamo or webber can win fuhck teh brauns!

    • Have you done the Ignition Sync Wizard in the AEM software?
    • Find out what RPM it was idling at with the IACV unplugged. It's very weird that the rpm didn't change at all, and then it stalled. When it stalls is it nearly like a switch off, like you've turned the engine off? Or is it more stutters and sputters and coughs to death over a few seconds? Or does the RPM just slowly keep going down and down? Have you done a test of trying to start it with the AFM unplugged? Does it still die?     If you Follow Josh's advice on using Nistune to check the voltages (which is a perfect method!) if you see anything out of wack voltage wise, THEN get the multimeter out and read the voltage directly at the sensor. If the two vary, then you're now looking for a wiring issue vs a sensor issue. So be aware, what the ECU sees, may not be what the sensor is actually saying too...
    • You very likely need to get it on a dyno and tune it. My assumption is, you've got an RB25DET tune in it, which has a different manifold, different injectors, and different cams as a minimum. What O2 sensor are you running?   When you say it runs extremely rich from idle all the way to redline, is this just free revving it you see that?
    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
