To all those who said last year that Hamilton needs to prove himself in a crap car (Troy?)... 18th -> 3rd in a crap car... Credit where it's due!

But all the Hamilton bashers will say its the first race and everybody fell down around him. But I'll say well done to Lewis for finshing up so highly. Kudos also goes out to Glock, starting from pit lane and finish 4th is good...But one driver that I would say had a really good drive was Sebastien Buemi of STR. He diced with the big boys and finished 7th for his trouble (for someone that it's his first GP and drive that well on race day - after being 2 seconds a lap slower than the field during practice needs a pat on the back)

just got back, what a weekend. Anyone who said F1 was dead is kidding themselves. I witnessed the best qualifying session ever on saturday, and a good race, even though it finished under yellow.

The Brawn cars were awesome, and yes they made it look effortless, i wish i had some good video to show you Button taking turn 1&2, barely lifted off. Good drive from Kubica up until the brain explosion, he realed Vetell in over the last 3 laps. Also Alonso had a good drive in a slower car. And Credit to Lewis. Also the toyotas who had a tough weekend.

i swear the FIA is going to ban something at the end of this grand prix. How can the Brawn GP car be THAT much faster than anyone else. It almost looks effortless.......unless Jensen IS that good.

I agree, i was sitting in Brabbam and Vettel had an issue out of turn 1 which gave Kubica a good run, i was surprised he wasnt already infront by turn 3.

I was standing on turn 3 when Kubica and Vettel hit eachother and it really looked as though Vettel tried to give Kubica the squeeze. I haven't seen a replay, but I think vettel was trying to shut the door way too late.

EDIT: After seeing this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQdiGI7b2dY and http://www.motorchili.com/video/3325/F1-Au...nd-Kubica-crash, I stand by my original comment. Though I do think Rubens deserves a similar penalty.

Damn hammo, every trips in front of him people knocking each other out and he takes 3rd

gggrrrrr

vettel should have just backed off and let koobs through, no point when he would have got him either way in the next few corners as he was on the hard tyres.

Damn ferrari's i think they need to get rid of the new team director dominiceli or some crap like that, he looks useless

love the new cars though, think they look zippy, not as beastly as last yrs though  still look sleek.

Brawn GP are damn quick !!

Ross Brawn is a magician, to get these cars that quick and have the team running in such a short time and to get 1st & 2nd is amazing !

Cant wait for the weekend :O:)

not really, winning or losing, they couldnt afford to finance the team anymore

what they should really be pissed about is coming up with that earth dreams crap for the last two years and not finding a title sponsor... thus putting them in the awkward position they found themselves late last year

i hope the marketing dipshit that came up with that got the ass and as a result is now unemployable

18 constructors championship points is worth a great deal to a team financially. Could potentially mean they travel (Brawn GP Cargo that is) to the rest of this years events for free

Sponsors are attracted to front runners because they get better bag for buck on the TV coverage all over the world. This for Brawn GP alone is a MASSIVE win both on and off the track!

Fark Bernie! I am flying out of KL at 10.25pm. So just realised the Malaysian GP kicks off at 5pm  So whats that, a 7pm finish...then i have to get a cab to the airport, check in???? Fark its going to be tight. Fark Bernie and his twilight races :/

Oh well, off now...will enjoy the maiden win of RBR and Webber, he goes ok in Malaysia so here is hoping that the Brawns blow up ... its probably what it will take

Vettels comments on the brawn cars, as he was following button for quite sometime....

I have the feeling they (Brawn) were playing with us

Hmm interesting if they have more pace in the car, and if they do then no one will catch this mob

very quick

Just love the fack that the UK media had dumped Jensen on his arse a couple of years ago whe Lewis came dashing onto the scene, now Button is the old new old boy of the British media, their darling if you like... Oh... The f*cking irony...

can't believe rubens didn't get a penalty for taking webber out. which bloody race were they watching. also vettel again fked up and took out the cube and himself. great job sebastian....

i'm with you troy. webbers maiden victory this weekend.

    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
