2871?

I run a low mount GT3037 pushing 300rwkw and 720nm of torque.

Car is a standard R33 Series 2 with mags. Got suspension but it doesn't even look lowered.

Everything looks pretty much stock.

Is that 300rwkw on stock internals?

Sure is, completely stock engine.

Since this dyno graph, I've leaned it to 12.7:1, and fixed that bump in the curve. That was at 18psi, I've also since had it up to 22psi. Makes a fair whack more power at that boost, but I couldn't control the boost properly so I pulled it back to 19psi.

I do ALL of my own tuning.

In reguards to R31Nismoid's post, HKS make whats called a HKS Silent Exhaust System.

You still get the flow and the nice cannon muffler but the noise is near to nothing. Probley just a slight rumble on full throttle and thats it.

Well I've currently got a custom exhaust with 2 mufflers being made at the moment, it's a backyard job though, so I hope that doesn't hinder me.

So getting a PFC rather than remapping the stock ecu is that much more beneficial? Let's say I get a PFC and get done, when I swap my stock one back in will my car run like goat's cheese? Ie. pass an emissions test, assuming I have a high flow turbo ect.?

If that's the case I might just do that unless I can get away with just the sock ecu remapped.

Nothing wrong with backyard jobs :D MOst of mine is backyard work, and better than any exhause shop in town.

As for emmissions -

I'd talk to Guilt-Toy, he's passed emmissions with a Powerfc and 380rwkw.

He might know the tricks to get emmisions passed with a remap, or even a daughteboard.

Ok well I've been doing some more research and I've been looking at getting a hi-flow r34 turbo, stealth intercooler kit, painted injectors, my custom exhaust.

I'm thinking about heading down to racepace since the are near my house and getting their advice too,

Will need to get a stock airbox with hi-flow filters to replace my pod.

Anything I've missed guys or any other suggestions?

Thanks heaps!

:spank: YEH bottom mount turbos are sweet, also a greddy hideaway intercooler is good, basically replaces the stock one,but is 5 times bigger..cams ,certain n/a tunes help compliment turbos ...cams,lifters.most internals, short shift kit...good rubber get what power u have to the ground...oversize everrtything...throttle bodies...etc... power chip.... tune...etc

EPA open the ECU covers if they suspect a chip, so either way...

Jesus christ you guys have it hard down there!! Beginning to understand why more and more of you guys keep everything looking stock on your cars.

This is Vic - there is no way to pass for the average punter. It costs more than all the mods put together so not worth it.

Simple as that.

NSW + Vic = not same. Cannot compare.

You'll pass easily.

idle and no load emissions will barely change with a larger turbo as the test does not involve loading up the motor.

Its been done time and time again by people, hence i recommended it.

Ye i must say i was surprised when he opened my ECU cover to check for a chip... lucky i didn't have my "special" stock ECU in there :spank:

Wet shots of gas can very, very easily be hidden. You can set it up so its virtually invisible. Hardest thing is hiding the bottle somewhere that isn't obvious.....

just mount the bottle in the cavity between the boot and back seat, just above the fuel tank access (if its a r33)

I don't think cops look in there?

Yes they can but, you don't need to and shouldn't. The bottle needs good ventilation around it.

Taking a setup kit out can be a 10-15min job, leaving behind only a secured braided line, bottle bracket and plumbed in fogger with a couple of little screw on caps on it. Too easy

It's a great option for someone wanting to go drag racing on the odd occasion. If the power requirement is only 150rwhp or so then you can get something like the Zex solenoid setup that looks to me to be the easiest to plug in and un plug quick for a visit to the strip. Although I believe they only offer smaller kits.

Adriano,

11's with stock intake (not restrictive really) stock Turbo (2rismo has already done it with a fairly small shot) and stock exhaust (well thats the nasty bit) do-able still. Little bigger shot needed perhaps a 125 to 150hp-ish.

Food for thought. :)

just leave your airbox and upgrade the standard side mount, you doing track work? high flow the standard turbo and get bigger injectors and pfc and your laughing. bingo bango job done and car still looks standardish.

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
